DESTINED

CHAPTER 33

Adrian left but I stayed back I wanted to watch over Nicole I wanted to be the first person she sees when she she wakes up.

After a few hours Adrian comes back with coffee and pancakes, he also brings me clothes to change into.

He stays back while I go to the adjacent washroom and take a shower. After a few minutes I wipe myself clean, to put on black fitting  jeans and a white T-shirt and slide back in my rubbers.

I join Adrian and take a seat adjacent to Nicole's bed , I called sick at my work place so I have a one week leave.

" I just wish she wakes up, I miss her so much, I hate to see her in this condition" I say sadly

" Baby don't worry, she'll get through this, I know Nicole, she's a strong woman and I'm sure she'll pull out of this"

" Yeah I hope so too" I answer him back

"Yeah babe, I need to get going, I'll see at lunch, I'll pass by, bring you lunch then in the evening, drive you back home, you need to rest so that you can be able to come back again tomorrow"

"I don't want to leave her side,I'm so scared"

" God is in control of everything, just believe in him"

He kisses my forehead and I hug him tightly. I watch sadly as he walks out of the room and I sink back on the couch besides her bed.

I stay a few minutes and I walk out of the room to the next room, Kyle's room. He's in the same condition as Nicole but his head is in bandages, I pity him and I keep wondering who could have done this to them.

An idea strikes my mind,when I remember about Nicole's story when they were back in Ethiopia with Kyle, might it be that Kevin returned back ? No he wouldn't have come here straight knowing he was jailed back in Ethiopia. I make up my mind to tell Mr Parker once he comes and before I can head out the door is pushed opened and he walks in looking tired and devastated

" Morning Mr Parker, any news or updates on the case?"
"Morning Maya, nothing new the police efforts are fruitless that bastard is somewhere happy knowing that he almost killed my son and his girlfriend, I won't rest until I have him behind bars"
" Me Richard I think maybe Kevin might be involved in this"
"Which Kevin are you talking about"
"Well when Kyle and Nicole went for the business trip in Ethiopia, Nicole was kidnapped and almost raped by the so called Kevin ,it was Kyle and his team that rescued her"
" What but Kyle has never told me of such a serious happening "
" I thought maybe you're aware, Kevin is currently Kyle's ex friend who his ex girlfriend cheated on with, Kyle cut all ties connecting to him but he still tracked him down and almost raped his girlfriend"
" You mean he was not arrested for the crime he committed back in Ethiopia"
"Yes he was arrested and jailed for 25 years but such cruel people can always find their way out of jail, I think he managed to escape so he just came to finish on what he started,kill them and then boom game over, my thoughts though"

" You might be right, let me inform my private PI  to work on that case, he can be of great help right now instead of depending bon the police reports"

" Yeah that will be a great idea, lem just check on Nicole I was here to check on Kyle"

" Okay you doing a great job, Shillah will join you soon I guess she's one her way, let me get going too"
With that he heads out and I follow him and go straight to Nicole's room.

It's almost in the evening I'm expecting Adrian to be here anytime from now, he brought me lunch like he had promised. We spent the better part of the day with Shillah, she's a sweet soul and social

We cracked jokes together despite the situation , just to clear the tension in the room, the good news is that, both Kyle and Nicole are out of danger, though Nicole will not be able to walk on her own for a while.

We just thank God for them, at least they had their safety belts on, if not we could have lost them both.

Adrian called and said he'll be here within thirty minutes, he stuck in the traffic and I understand, we're with Shillah, she's also waiting for her dad.

Right then, her dad's car pulls up in the parking lot and his dad gets out looking all tired and sad. He walks to where we are and Shillah is the first to talk

" Dad any news, is everything alright?"
" There's both bad and good news , so I'll start with the good news, first the guy behind everything is is Kevin like Maya just suggested but the bad news is that he flew out of the country today morning, the police are following him up"
" I guessed right, that guy should rot in jail z he deserves death" I say bitterly
We spent some time with them in Kyle's and Nicole's room before Adrian calls to inform me he's outside so I excuse myself, promise to get back tomorrow morning and I bide them goodbye as I head out.

I find Adrian leaning on Nicole's car, we agreed to take it home so we'll be driving in that, he kisses me briefly on my lips and we both slide in. We talk about our days and I tell him about Kevin's case, we are silent for the rest of the drive . Adrian promised to sleep over, so by the time we get to bed I'm super tired.

He wraps his hands on my waist and cuddles me, I sleep immediately praying for both Nicole and Kyle to get better.
