I struggle to open my eyes and I'm met by unfamiliar environment, the walls are painted white and I can hear machines beeping.
I cough and try to move my legs and my body but everything is numb, I wonder if I'm dead or still living.
Someone shouts happily
"Hey she's finally up, God this is good news I can't believe she's up"
They might be happy I'm finally awake, wait was I dead or what's happening to me, so I decide to go raise my voice and ask them
" Where I'm I?" The sound comes as a whisper and I hear them saying
" She's trying to say something, doc do something"
" She just woke up I think it's then medicine making her numb and tired"
" Baby, you're finally awake" I hear a familiar sweet voice, and who's that?
" Baby can you see me, it's me Kyle, can you hear me"
Of course I can hear them but they're treating me like I'm dumb and deaf, I'll have to show them that I can hear them"
"Hey where I'm I ?"
" Wow you're in the hospital baby"
"Why what happened"
"We got an accident baby"
"How long have I been here?" I ask surprised
" One month honey"
"Woooah,my legs, I can't move,and my ribcage is painful"
" You broke your legs baby but you'll be fine"
" So I'm crippled?"
" No honey the doctor said you'll be able to walk after 4months"
"What happened to your car and what about Kevin?"
" The car was taken care of by insurance company and Kevin was arrested"
He's stoking my arms and I just stare at him. I can't believe I was in coma for one month, when I see Kyle after waking up, im happy at least he didn't give up on me.
Maya walks right in with Adrian besides her and when she spots me, her smile broadens and she runs to my bed, she gives me a hug carefully not to hurt me and I see her eyes, they're moist and wet, she's been crying
" God I missed you so much honey, I thank God you're finally awake" she says amidst years
" I'm finally here sweetheart that's all that matters" I say to her and she nods smiling faintly. Adrian follows suite and hugs me wishing me a quick recovery.
Shillah and her dad walks in and I'm surprised, her mom is not accompanying them. She runs to my bed and hugs me tightly
" Hey girl, relax you're hurting me"I say while laughing heartily at her
"You don't know how much I missed you Nicole , for one month I've been praying you wake up and least I see that beautiful smile on your face, I thank God he finally heard my prayers"
She hugs me and her dad follows suite .
" Thank God you're finally awake we were all worried about you, Kyle here took just one week and he got better" Mr Richard says and I gawk at Kyle in surprise, he didn't bother to tell me
" What you mean you were in coma too but you don't tell me Kyle that's not fair, I'm only learning that from your dad"
He gives me that pouty face and I automatically know what next, he knows I'll forgive him
" I'm sorry baby, I didn't want to worry you,you had just woken up and I missed you"
"Don't use that on me Kyle ,you do that that ain't fair at all, but it's in the past now"
" I'm sorry baby but I'm okay now, it's you we're all worried about"
I'll be fine,if God brought me from the valley of death and here I am, what else is impossible to Him?"
We spent the rest of the day talking and they keep me company , tomorrow being a weekend ,Kyle says he'll stay with me and spend.
the night with me and I'm super excited.
After supper, with of course Kyle offers to feed me, im given my medication and I wait up for Kyle, the bed is not that big enough to support the both of us, but Kyle insists that he'll sleep besides me.
He slides besides me and switches off the lights, he switches on the bedside lamp and moves towards me. I feel his breathe and I swear I missed this feeling, I was admitted in Kyle's family hospital and we're in the private wing so no one will disturb us.
" Baby I missed you so much, every morning I brought fresh flowers and a note on it wishing you a quick recovery, hoping that one day I'll find you awake , but you were just here sleeping soundly, you still looked beautiful in your sleep though you were in coma, and the day I was praying for is finally here, you don't know how much that means to me,I just realised I can't stay without you, I love you Nicole Alison"
" This is so emotional honey, but you do know I love you and I wanna spend the rest of my life with you besides me, I wanna grow old with you, and I wanna have a family with you, I love you too Kyle Parker" he nods and kisses me briefly on my lips
" And by the way where is your mom, the last time I checked she still hated my guts"
" Dad gave her strict orders she's not to see you or step her feet in this hospital, I hate her,and by the way were yet to find, who was with Kevin in that car, he refused to talk and dad ordered his men to kill him, he would've been a threat to us"
" He deserves more than death honey ,I don't feel sorry for him and I hope they find his accomplice too"
" Yes babe, you should sleep you had a long day" Kyle says and I agree with him.
He cuddles me and I feel safe in his arms, he kisses me good night and i drift off to sleep
