DESTINED

CHAPTER 42

Grandma Catherine, so she's Kyle's Granny.
I run to meet her in the midway and I hug her so tightly.

" Granny Catherine, I missed you so much ,I can't believe it's you" I say to her happily

" Jeez Nicole ,you've grown into such a young beautiful lady, time really flies " she says back and I can spot tears in her eyes, its understandable, I'm crying too still in her embrace.

" Grandma you mean you know each other?" Kyle asks and we turn back to him

So all this while we had forgotten about my poor Kyle.

" Oooh my God sorry my son, I was lost in her embrace and almost forgot my handsome man is here with me" Grandma says and proceeds to hug him

She's so emotional and I find myself emotional too. I reach for my pocket tissues in my handbag and wipe my eyes, and offer some to granny Catherine and wipe her eyes too.

" Come let's get inside" Grammy offers and I grin behind Kyle. I'm happy , in super excited to put it into the right words.

The last time I met Grammy was back in my family's burial . I had almost forgotten about her. Such a nice coincidence. And I thank God at least someone who cares for me is right here with me.

Once we're settled down, granny offers us with some juice from the fridge to sip as we catch up from where we left.

She's not that old and she hates it when she's called granny, she prefers Catherine to granny.

" So granny, you never told me you knew such a beautiful girl existed, you could have hooked me with her" he winks at her and I laugh at that

" Kyle , you naughty boy, you're ever funny, but at least you have her here you can hook her up"

" Granny she's my girlfriend or fiancee whatever that means but I'm intending to marry her, she's adorable as you can see"

" Nicole, is such a wonderful girl Kyle, I've seen her grow into this beautiful to seeing here, her granny was my best friend but she died before Nicole was born, although they used to stay here in karabaini actually that's their real home, but they moved out to Nakuru, the bond was still there until her family crushed in a cat accident, ever since I've never met Nicole, I thank God you brought her to me, God knows it has been like 4 years now, thanks son"

" I'm sorry granny Catherine, I never bothered to check up on you after my family's burial I was so depressed and stressed , in sorry I never even bothered to know your home either, the good thing is that we finally meeting, in so happy" I say to her and she smiles

We continue chatting, getting to know each other and by the end of the day, we're all super excited. We're to sleep over since it's on a Saturday , we'll be leaving tomorrow afternoon.

Granny shows us Richards old room and I marvel at how clean the room is. You can imagine somebody has never used like in years now.

I come to learn that Richard is the only child to Mr and Mrs kimani. Mr kimani died 5 years ago and I'm so sad I never met him in person.

We're in the living room after dinner, I helped the maids make supper and clean the dishes.
We're making stories with Kyle, granny already retired to bed to forgetting to leave behind instructions.

So Kyle is to use his dad's room and I'm to use the guest room, but Kyle only winked and I know he's up to no good tonight. We're watching a movie, it's already late at night and we both super excited so we ain't sleepy.

Kyle chose a movie for us to watch and he fucking chose a horror movie, "evil dead"
I'm not a fan of horror movies but Kyle insisted and convinced me that he'll be with me all the time so no need to worry.

The whole movie is so scary and I'm clinging so tightly to him as if my life depends on him.

I sigh in relief when the movie comes to an end and I convince Kyle to sleep with me in the guest room which he agrees to immediately. I now connect the dots as to why he wanted us to watch that scary movie. So we end up sleeping together in the guest room.

I wake up and find Kyle's arms around my waist and as I try to move my body he wakes up in the process

" Morning pretty" he says in a husky deep voice and I smile in return

"Morning too handsome"

Before we can do anything else I hear Granny's voice from the corridors calling my name and I signal Kyle to hide in the bathroom.

"Morning granny you woke up early" I say to when she enters my room and she smiles in return

"Morning Nicole, where's Kyle , I passed by his room but he's not inside and the bed looks like he never slept on it" I almost chuckle when she says that and I wish she knew Kyle slept here with me

" Maybe he's already up and in the kitchen" I say and she walks out.

Kyle comes out of the bathroom laughing and I shush him in response. He sneaks back to his room and heads to the shower.

Later in the day we're on the way heading back to Nairobi I'm so happy granny approved our relationship and she said we be should thinking of marriage soon, she wants to hold her great grandchildren before she dies. She took me to my home place and I was happy I finally stepped my feet in my homeland. She introduced us to her friends as her grandsons fiancee.

Kyle holds my hands throughout the journey and I'm grinning all ears as we head to the house. I can't wait to break the good news to Maya , she must hear this and I'll also be resuming work tomorrow. I really missed that place.
