Imbes na tignan ang dalawa pagkababa ko ay naagaw iyon ng lamesa na puno ng kung anu-ano.

May barbeque na hindi pa luto, steak na tunay ngang nakakatakam, prutas, wine, and so on.

With a loud music on, you can feel that the vibe in here screams chill and fun.

Hindi na gaano kainit at anumang oras ay sasapit na ang dilim.

Dagdagan pa ang balibagan nila ng katawan sa pool. Hindi ko alam kung sino na ang nilulunod ng sino basta sumasaboy ang tubig sa gilid.

Napailing na lang ako sa pinaggagawa nila sa buhay. Samantala, napatingin naman ako sa gawi nila Achi. Nagdadalawang isip kung lalapit ba ako o hahayaan na lang sila roon.

Alam kong hindi ko makakausap si Achi pero sa huli ay wala akong nagawa kung hindi ang lumapit sa kanila.

"When we transferred here in Manila, I was really silent and shy. Nobody knows me, and so do I. No friends, no whatnot. It's just me and my parents. So I was really having a hard time adjusting here." si Jesca.

"U-huh. But now what? You have tons of friends and you're blending in with the crowd." Achi proudly said.

"I wouldn't say tons of friends, but at least I have companions whenever I need one. And, not all are my real friends, though." Jesca shrugged.

"Then stay with the real ones and let go of the fake ones. You don't need them in your life anyway."

Malungkot namang napaiwas ng tingin si Jesca kay Achi, "The only real friend that I had is now gone. So I have no choice but to stay with the rest of what I have."

"Is that the girl in the photo earlier?" pasimpleng tanong ni Achi sabay sulyap sa akin.

Sa tabi ako ni Jesca umupo kaya madali na sa kaniya ang makita ako.

Tahimik lang naman ako doon pero diretso lang ang tingin ko sa pool. Naagaw lang nang marinig ang usapan nila na may kinalaman ako.

"Yeah. Her name is Ruhee. First day of school and I was reluctant to talk to anyone.
I feel isolated because I can already see that there are already group within the class. So it's really hard for me to fit in. One week of class and I barely talked to anyone." kwento ni Jesca.

"Really? Sa Cebu hindi ka naman ganoon, ah. You're surrounded with your friends and you're bubbly as far as I can remember." si Achi.

Napaiwas ulit ng tingin si Jesca, "A lot of things happened, including you and my family. My relationship with my parents were tainted and up until now, we barely communicate with each other."

Bigla namang naging seryoso ang mukha ni Achi. Ngayon ako naman ang napaiwas ng tingin dahil alam kong kahit papaano ay mayroon pa ring epekto ang nangyari sa kanila noon.

"I'm sorry for that. Do you regret having me in your life back then?" tanong ni Achi.

Agad binaling ni Jesca ang kaniyang tingin kay Achi, "Of course not! That's out of the context." seryoso niya ring sabi.
