School is kicking my ass. That's it

Olivia
I woke up feeling great about today. Tim wanted to take us on a hike as his last planned bonding activity. After today, we can do whatever. I got out of bed and started getting a few things together. Jacket, phone, sunglasses, water bottle, snacks, a small bag to hold everything. I think that's it. That's when I heard a knock at my door.

I opened the door and was greeted by the girls. "Hey, you ready to go?" Sofia asks.

"Yeah, I'm just making sure I got everything." I continue to move through my room, making sure I didn't miss anything.

That's when I hear the heavy side door open. "Hey Liv, do you know where my wallet is?" I hear Josh ask as I continue to triple check myself.

"Why would I know? Plus, we're going on a hike. You don't need it." I look up and hold eye contact with him. I knew the girls were looking at us like hawks, but I didn't dare to look at them. I just stared into Josh's eyes.

"I know I don't need it, but I'd like to know where it is." He's now in my living room looking around. "Oh, hey girls," he said, noticing Julia, Sofia, and Dara staring at us.

"Fine, I'll help you look. It probably fell out of your pocket when we were on the couch."

We were practically tearing my couch apart at this point looking for it. "Found it," I say holding it up.

"Thanks, Livvy, see you in a few," he says, taking the wallet out of my hand.

"See ya Joshy." He goes back to his room.

I finally turn to face the girls, and I can see them trying to hold in their excitement. "What?" I finally ask.

"Um, when were you gonna tell us you have an adjoining room with 'Joshy'?" Dara said in a slightly mocking tone to tease me.

"I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Plus, I assumed you knew when Tim did that whole introduction thing. He told us all of our room numbers. "

"You're practically sharing a room with someone that isn't Ethan," Julia says.

"So? It's not like I'm cheating. Josh and I are just friends," I try to reassure them.

"Oh, so we're back to Josh now?" Sofia asks, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Is that not what you guys are going on about?"

"Maybe we should ask Joshy," Julia says, dragging out the last word.

"You guys are making a big deal out of nothing," I say, rolling my eyes. "Besides, don't you guys have adjoining rooms with whoever's next to you?"

"Yeah, but it's not like Matt and I leave the doors unlocked!" Sofia exclaims. Dara and Julia nod in agreement with her.

"And why was his wallet in your room?" Dara asks. Oh great, I still don't want to tell them yet.

"We just hung out a little yesterday," I said.

"Uh huh, anything else happen?" Sofia asks.

"No, why?" I lied.

"Because you're blushing like crazy," she says pointing to my face.

"Nothing happened, I promise." That was half true. Nothing happened in my room, but something happened in that auditorium. But I keep reminding myself it was just for a moment, it's not like anything's gonna come from it. Right?
