This question hit me while I was writing this: what would HSMTMTS be like if Disney hadn't picked Just for a Moment to be in the show? Like, what if they had chosen one of the other submissions?

I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. I'm trying to desperately calm down, but not much is working. I think back to Josh's words as I'm walking to the stage.

"Are you ready, Liv?" Tim asks.

"Yeah."

I get up on stage and wait as the lights and cameras are being set up. It's not too much longer until everything's ready. "Ok, that's everything. You're good, right?" Tim asks.

"Yeah, I'm ready." The lights change, and this auditorium somehow becomes more magical. Two people stand near me with a camera, and it finally sets in that this is happening.

"Action!"

Hearing her sing her heart out is an amazing thing to witness. I'm leaning against a wall near the doors of the auditorium, and I can hear her almost perfectly; the wall is kinda muffling it.

"Fess up," Frankie demands, snapping me back to reality.

"What?"

"You and Liv. And don't try to play dumb with me; I will get the truth out of you."

"Let's just calm down for a second. No need to be hasty," Joe says. The only voice of reason.

"Forget calm. I want to know about the little pep talks before performing," Dara demands.

"We're just calming each other's nerves."

"You two aren't dating, and I feel more single around you than anyone else," Sofia says, and I know my face is a little red.

Oh my god, I actually did it! We just finished filming, and I couldn't be happier. "Amazing job, Liv. Ok, you can go get changed now. Tell everyone else to come back in here when you're out there," Tim says. I nod and quickly go out.

"Hey, guys, Tim said to meet him back in the auditorium," I tell them as I'm running towards my trailer.

I get there in a few minutes, and as I'm changing, I notice something. The locket Ethan got me for our one-year anniversary on the table. I pick it up and just twirl it between my fingers. Appearance-wise, it's nothing grand; just a simple heart because I've never been a fan of jewelry that stands out.

The problem is its meaning. It represents a year of what felt like bliss. But I now know that he played his overprotectiveness and jealousy off as love. Looking back, I'm not sure what was real or fake.

I open it and memories flood back. We look so happy in the picture. I'm sure somewhere during that time we were. Well, I was. He probably was too, but I just don't know anymore.

Now... what to do with it? My first instinct is to just throw it away, but my brain started overthinking; now I'm stuck. I'll figure it out later.

*Ten Minutes Later*
"Liv, you ok?" I put the locket back on the table and go to the door.

I open it, and Josh is standing there. "Yeah, why?'

"You were just talking a while, and Tim wanted me to come find you. Is everything fine?"
