So this chapter turned out to be 5369 words at first... 😲. That's the longest thing I've ever written. After editing, I did manage to break it into three different chapters now instead of what it was. Now, this is 1656. Not the longest in this book but still.

3rd POV
Because Ricky's supposed to show up late, Tim said Joshua just had to be off to the side if he wanted to watch, so the camera couldn't see him. He didn't want to miss seeing this though, especially since he knew Olivia was nervous about it.

"Action!"

They start the dancing part of the 'audition'. During this, Nini and EJ are supposed to be shocked at the choreography, so that's pretty easy.

"Great, that's it for the warm-up," Frankie (Carlos) says.

Olivia (Nini) turns to Matt (EJ) and whispers, "That was the warm-up?"

They're now supposed to get in line while Kate (Miss Jenn) goes down the line and gives them scripts. Olivia (Nini) goes up to Sofia (Gina) and says, "Hi, um, I'm Nini. Wow, um, can I borrow your high kick sometime?"

"Oh my god, you're the cutest," Sofia (Gina) responds. They walk together to about the center of the floor, and she adds, "So... have you played leads here before?"

"No, um, not yet," she answers with hesitation. "But, uh, this summer at camp I went on for the lead when she got low-grade salmonella so... I'm ready."

"Great story," Sofia (Gina) says with a hint of sarcasm. "You know, I've never been to a camp... or been an understudy. You'll have to tell me all about it." Olivia (Nini) makes a face that's kinda like 'oh... kay'. "Gina, sophomore, transfer student," she says with her hand out.

"And we're back," Kate (Miss Jenn) announces. When the girls face forward, Olivia's (Nini's) mouth makes an O.

"Cut!"

"Ok, let me just say you do that whole villain thing very well," Olivia compliments Sofia.

"Oh my god, I love how intimidating she tries to be. It's so much fun."

"Now's the part when Miss Jenn goes down the line suggesting what part everyone should play," Tim announces.

"You. You're giving me uncommon depth. Ms. Darbus?"

"I'm dying. I'm deceased, yes," Julia (Ashlyn) says.

"Oh, your application says you play piano."

"I dabble," Julia (Ashlyn) responds.

"You ever written a song?"

"I mean, nothing I've ever shared with anyone."

"I always thought the drama teacher should have an Act Two power ballad. We'll sidebar."

Next up is Sofia (Gina). "Gabriella?" Kate (Miss Jenn) asks.

"You got it," she answers

She moves over to EJ while Frankie (Carlos) is looking for a script. "Oh, I'm good. I'm already off-book," she says to him.

"Give him the Troy stuff. Who are we kidding?" Matt (EJ) not so subtly mouths yes.

"And how about we have you read for... Kelsi?" Kate (Miss Jenn) asks Olivia (Nini).
