The Night With Him

Three Years Earlier

He had raped me and I ran.

I tired running and I found a passage to run down but it ended up being a dead end.

"You can't run far Ellanor! I will find you over and over again. You will be mine forever. Together forever and always. Never apart. We will have a big house with lots of kids and a bunch of grandkids... Ellanor you can't hide from me!" I hide behind a dumpster a hope to God that Lou doesn't find me. "Found you, you little rat!"

"Ahh!! Let me go Lou!! Please? We can go back home and I will make supper and then we will plan for the future."

"Shut up!" Lou yanks on my hair and I wince in pain.

"Help! Someone please help!?!" Lou tosses me into the wall causing me to zone in and out.

"I told you to shut up!" He yanks me up and drags me by my hair again.

"Please someone help.." I plead.

"Nobody wants to help you Ellanor so shut up!" He wraps his arm around my head and covers my mouth so I can't speak. I try to scream but his hand muffles the sound. I bite him and he shrieks and lets go of me. I take that as my chance and try to run.

"You little bitch! You're gonna regret that!" He chases after me and I scream again.

"Help!" Does anyone in Jacksonville ever listen? Lou catches my hair again and pulls and starts to hit me. This time we are close to the street and someone happens to walk by. "Help me!!"

"Hey, stop! Get away from her!" The guy gets Lou off of me and threw him against the wall with ease leaving Lou lying there. "Are you okay?"

"Please. Don't come any closer." I plead.

"I won't hurt you. I promise." The strong husky masculine voice says. He reaches out and puts an arm on me.

"Don't touch me!" I scream and smack him. He lets go and steps back.

"I see he did a number on you. Okay can you stand?" The stranger asks.

"Yes." I stand up and collapse, to be caught by him.

"Right. Okay how about I take you to the diner to get you something to eat and drink."

"No." Did he not just see some of what I just went through?

"Come on it's the least I can do."

"I'm not getting in a vehicle with a stranger." Does he think I'm that crazy?

"Well that's good. I don't have my vehicle."

"You walk?" Him? 

"Is it against the law to walk?" Wait was he serious?

"Well no, no it's not."

"Well let's get walking before he wakes up. " He nods towards Lou. We walk to a small cafe and walk in.

"Welcome to Lata Granda how can I help you?"

"Can I have a milk please?" The guy asks.

"Sure thing Tim."

"And for you Hun?" Jackie, the waitress, asks smiling.

"I'll have the same thing with a straw though please." The waitress smiles and walks off. When the waitress comes back with our drinks Tim stands up.

"Please excuse me. I need to use the restroom." He walks to the back of the restaurant to the bathroom.

The door closes behind him and I grab a napkin and write Tim a thank you. I get up and I leave.
