We get back to the house and stop at the gate and I see the keypad for the code.
"What's the code?" I ask looking to Louis.
"I can't say." He turns his head.
"Why?"
"Because I just can't."
"Fine you type it in."
"I will." Louis leans over me and out the window. He types the four digit code in and the gates open. He goes back to sit but stops right in front if my face. "You, my love, are an outstanding woman." Louis kisses me and sits back down. I sit there stunned. "Are we going soon? Because the gates will close and I'll have to type the code in again." That snaps me out of my thoughts and I drive.
"Does he always fall asleep during car rides?" Louis asks as I park.
"Yeah, he's only three. What do you expect him to do? Play on his phone?"
"Well no." We get out and I get Jax out of the back.
"You have a lot to learn my friend."
"Looks like it." I hold Jax head to the door. I open the door without think and an alarm goes off. Jax joints awake and is crying. "Ugh why'd you do that? Where are you from? Don't you ever lock your door?"
"Yeah, why wasn't this one locked?"
"It was."
"No."
"Not the handle, electronically." Jax was still crying and I tried to get him to stop.
"Jax it's okay." I whispered. "Can't you get it turned off?"
"Yeah let me run in the house and turn it off. Oh wait I can't, because someone's brother decided to be tough and beat the crap out of me."
"I said I was sorry."
"Yeah, yeah." Louis gets the alarm shut off and we hear sirens. "Really?" He sighs and tosses his jacket on the back on the couch before plopping down on with grunts of pain.
"What?" I say looking to him.
"I didn't get it shut off soon enough, so the cops will be here soon."
"Great." I roll my eyes and sit on the couch beside him. "I did say I was sorry didn't I?"
"Yes." I brush a piece of hair out of his face and Jax crawls onto the couch with him and they cuddle together.
The doorbell rings and I answer it.
"Uh.. is Mr. Kiloton here?" A tall, bald, police officer asks.
"Mr. Kiloton is busy at the moment. May I be of your assistance?"
"Uh yes actually. The alarm went off and we were notified."
"Oh yes. I'm new around here and I opened the door without realising the alarm might go off. Mr. kiloton didn't get it shut off in time."
"Okay. Why didn't he? He usually does. "
"H-he had....his.. uh.. Hands full, yes his hands full and couldn't make it soon enough."
"Right. You are who?"
"I am a friend."
"Okay. May we speak to Mr. Kiloton please?"
"Yes you may. Right this way." I show them to the livingroom where Louis and Jax were. Jax came to stand by me and the men never noticed him a bit.
Louis sat up and winced. "Gentlemen can I do something for you?"
"Uh.. Well your alarm went off and you normally shut it off soon."
