Clementine x Male Reader: Enemy Within

Chapter 5

Carlos: "Just drive a little closer. The gates should open."

You pull up close to the gate and wait for something to happen. You don't see any guards on top of the wall. The gates open and you see something that you were not expecting.

Civilization. People, animals, lights, everything from before, crammed into one community.

Carlos: "Pull up there."

He points at a parking spot and you park in it. You both step out of the truck. You look all around in amazement. The vibe is very different here.

Y/N: "What the hell is this place?"

Stranger: "Welcome to Harmony."

You turn around and see a woman standing there. She has a smile on her face and her hands on her hips. She looks like she's in her thirties and in good shape.

Carlos: "Meghan!"

Meghan: "Welcome back, Carlos."

They shake hands and Meghan stares at you.

Meghan: "Who is this, Carlos?"

Carlos: "This is my friend, Meghan. His name is Y/N."

She raises her eyebrows but doesn't say anything. She walks up to you and sticks her hand out.

Meghan: "Nice to meet you, Y/N."

You stare at her hand but then quickly shake it.

Y/N: "Likewise, Meghan."

Carlos: "Excuse me, Meghan?"

Meghan: "Yes?"

He leans in and whispers something in her ear.

Meghan: "Where do you think?"

Carlos: "Great. Thank you. Come on, brother."

You both start walking away.

Meghan: "Wait!"

You both stop and turn around.

Meghan: "I would like to speak with Y/N for a moment, if you don't mind."

You both look at each other confused.

Y/N: "Um... sure."

Carlos: "That's fine. Meet me at the bar when you are finished."

He pats your back and walks away.

Meghan: "Follow me."

She starts walking with her hands behind her back and you follow.

Y/N: "You wanted to speak?"

Meghan: "Yes. So, you're the famous, Y/N L/N?"

Y/N: "You know me?"

Meghan: "I've heard of you. Leader of Sunset. The most dominant settlement in northern Virginia! That's extremely honorable, don't you think?"

Y/N: "Well, I wouldn't know anything about being honorable."

Meghan: "You're big around these parts. Managed to take out Delta when no one else could, and at such a young age. You certainly made a name for yourself. I guess you're still wondering what this place is?"

Y/N: "Yeah.."

Meghan: "This is Harmony. A community I lead. Our purpose is to bring peace and safety to those in need. We help out anyone in any way we can. You see, we're trying to bring back civilization. Something so fragile but so important that we lost years ago to the undead."

Y/N: "That's very... pleasant of you. I can't believe I haven't heard of this place before."

Meghan: "We try not to "stand out" too much if you know what I mean. Yes we are trying to unite people and bring back civilization. But this world transforms people, makes them monsters. And monsters are to be avoided."
