Carlos POV
Carlos: "¿En serio?"
Zelus: "Yes, Carlos."
Zelus begins to spin in his chair while leaning back on it.
Carlos: "Why do I have to do it?"
Jason opens the door and walks into the room. He sees you both talking and decides to wait by the door with his arms crossed. Zelus stops spinning in his chair and looks at you in ambivalence.
Zelus: "You did not just ask me that."
Carlos: [sigh] "Mira, coño. All I'm tryin' to say is why in particular that person? We could maybe pick another?"
He stands up from his desk and walks around his desk to stand in front of you.
Zelus: "Carlos, when I told you we would kill Y/N, I told you we would make him suffer before, no matter what. That means it doesn't matter who the person is, or what the circumstances are, we will break Y/N at any cost, you understand?"
A feeling of regret is starting to rise up in you, but you can't go back now. You're in too deep.
Zelus: "Carlos, I've worked too hard to gather all of Y/N's biggest rivals. You know why it's only us left and not more? Because he's taken most of them out. I won't deny it, he's strong and smart, that's why he is where he is today. We could just kill him with a simple bullet, but too many people have tried that, none have succeeded. I want to break him, and a way to do that is to... take it out on the people he cares about, including..."
Carlos: [sigh] "I get it, coño."
He turns his back to you and starts to fill a glass with whiskey.
Zelus: "Did he or Mark ever tell you about their relationship with a certain someone?" He says, handing a glass to you.
Carlos: "You talkin' about Y/N's baby momma, and Mark's ex-lover? If so, not much."
Zelus: "Well, she played a big part in both of their lives. Mark's ex-best friend and lover, Y/N's planned wife and mother to his little girl. What happened to her, really hurt Mark, but it broke Y/N."
Carlos: "What happened?"
Zelus: "It's a long story, full of sorrow and drama. Maybe someone should make a book about it so you could read it."
He says, chuckling before taking a drink.
Zelus: "Anyways, she died, caught in the crossfire of their war. I saw how it decimated Y/N. Before he met her, he was on his own, he was the strongest version of himself, but he had to get attached to people. That's what brought him down. Every night after her death, he would leave his home and go out into the wilderness, acting crazy, hoping to die to end the pain. But it never happened, somehow, he always manages to slip from the grip of death's hands."
Carlos: "Maybe more detail so I could at least have a little sympathy."
Zelus: "Maybe some other time. Just keep in mind, whatever hurts the people he cares about, hurts him ten times more."
You look at the ground while biting your lip for a while. You sigh before downing the rest of your drink.
Carlos: "I'll get to it, then."
Zelus: "I knew you would." He says, patting your shoulder.
You nod and head to the door.
Jason: "You talk too much, beaner."
He interrupts you as you're about to open the door.
Carlos: "¿Qué te pasa, coño? I know I'm Mexican, but I never told you that. What, you just assume everyone who speaks the beautiful language of Spanish is Mexican? Coño, I could be Cuban for all you know, maybe try to be like Tony Montana."
