Next Day

Y/N: "I um... well, there was this one time
when I got drunk during one of the party's. Your mom dragged me to my house and put me in bed next to Leslie. She left us and in my drunken state, I began tickling her. She was tired and wasn't having it, so... she literally kicked me off of the bed."

Ashley lets out a small but quick giggle. You put your arm around her as she leans closer to you.

Ashley: "I miss my mom..."

The sadness in her voice breaks your heart. You look down as you let out a quiet sigh.

Y/N: "Yeah, me too, Ash."

Ashley: "Do you miss Leslie?"

She says propping her head up a little.

Y/N: "You have no idea..."

You look down at your feet and see Ellie on the ground playing with your bootlaces. You playfully shake your leg to mess with her while smiling. You hear the door open beside you and look to see Clementine coming out and sitting next to you. She cups your face and you both exchange kisses before she lays her head on your shoulder.

Y/N: "How's Louis?" You ask her in a low husky voice.

Clem: "If we had waited longer, he wouldn't have made it." She says while squeezing your hand.

Y/N: "Vi?"

Clem: "Catching up with Lucy. He really traumatized them."

You shake your head. You both sit in silence as you gently run your fingers through a sleeping Ashley's hair. You take a deep breath as it hits you that you're surrounded by the three most precious girls in your life.

Clem: "Looks like you're on daddy-duty." She says with a soft chuckle.

Y/N: "I'd rather do this than be out there again."

You look at each other as Clementine begins to rub your arm. You kiss her forehead as you pull her closer to you.

Clem: "Your jacket is really warm."

Y/N: "I know, you better not steal it."

Clem: "No promises."

You smirk while shaking your head. She props her head up and looks at you with a serious face.

Clem: "What happened out there? You never showed up at the waterfall and I didn't hear from you since. What happened?"

You can tell from the look on her face that these questions have been running through her head for a while now, and she's desperate for an answer, but you don't know it.

Y/N: "I... got caught up. The area was hot with walkers, and I was trying to... find myself."

She tilts her head in confusion.

Y/N: "While I was out there... I had a lot of time to think. I thought about... who I really was, and who I wanted to be."

You look down and let out a short but nervous chuckle.

Y/N: " 'guess I thought too hard."

She looks at you with sympathy in her eyes. She squeezes your hand, making you look at her.

Clem: "Y/N, you know if you ever need help, you can talk to me."

Y/N: "Yeah, I know, but there's somethings that I'd rather deal with myself, you know?"

You both sit in silence for a while, eventually stopped by you kissing Clem on the cheek.

Y/N: "Can you watch them? I wanna check on Louis and Vi..."
