Chapter 28

Zelus POV

You all finally get back to base and you storm out of your truck. Jason gets out and follows you as you finish bandaging your arm up.

Zelus: "Gentlemen, get as much rest as you can. We'll be back out soon."

You lead Jason back to your office. When you open the door, you grin at the sight of Carlos and Mark. They both stand up as they hear the door open.

Zelus: "Well, well, well, looks like the gang's all here."

Mark: "The hell is this?" He asks Carlos, confused.

You step in front of Mark and stick your hand out to him.

Zelus: "I know what you're thinking, Mark. No, I'm not Y/N, not exactly. My name is Zelus. I've been expecting you for a while now."

He looks down at your hand and reluctantly takes it. You then pat his arm.

Zelus: "Please, Gentlemen."

You motion for them to sit. Mark sits in between Carlos and Jason. You walk behind the desk and sit down on your chair.

Zelus: "So, Mark? How's it feel to be outside again?"

He looks around suspiciously.

Mark: "... alright. What is this?"

Zelus: "You didn't tell him?"

You look at Carlos and he shakes his head while leaning back in his chair.

Zelus: "To keep this short, we're an alliance. We all share an equal amount of hate towards Y/N. We were only missing one member, you."

He looks around the room while scratching his beard.

Mark: "What's the plan then?"

Zelus: "It's simple, now that we're all here, united, we can kill Y/N."

He leans back while tilting his head to the side.

Mark: "Alright. I'm in."

You lean back in your chair while crossing your arms.

Jason: "Hold on a sec, you say we're all united, but we don't know what the deal is with you."

Mark: "I was gonna ask, what's up with your face?"

You look down and chuckle.

Zelus: "I suppose it was gonna come down to this."

Flashback

You open your eyes and realize you're laying on the floor. You sit up and look around the empty room. It's your room, Y/N's room.

You stand up and realize you're naked. You walk over to the closet and pull out some clothes. Once you finish putting on a shirt, something catches your eye. You pull out a black cloak and inspect it. You like it.

You step in front of a mirror and look at yourself. You touch your face and smile.

Zelus: "It worked. Son of a bitch."

You sneak around the room until you reach the left side of the bed which is facing the wall. You kneel down and pull out a small chest from under the bed. You open it and see Leslie's old .357 Magnum. You take it out and inspect it for bullets. You put it in your waist and put the chest back where it was.

You slowly open the door to the room and step out when you don't see anybody. You slowly walk through the hallway without making a sound.

Once you reach the living room, you see Y/N and Leslie making out on the couch. You slowly start to walk backwards into the hallway. You hear them stop when they hear Ellie's cries from the room next to you.

Y/N: "I'll get her." You hear him say from the living room.

Zelus: "Shit."

You dash into a corner of the hallway which is pitch black. You crouch down behind a big vase and watch as Y/N enters his room. You see him come out with Ellie in his arms as he walks back to the living room. You wait until the coast is clear and then you carefully and quietly exit the house.

End Of Flashback

Mark: "You just appeared on the floor?"

Zelus: "I guess so. Back when Y/N was on his own, before he even came across Sunset, he was a murderer. He found some crazy African American guy in the woods who practiced voodoo and satanism. Weird guy, probably brought some of the dolls he had with him to life. Anyways, Y/N stole his supplies and killed him. While he was dying, he put some weird ass curse on him, which in turn created me."

You stare at their confused faces.

Carlos: "¿Qué demonios?"

Zelus: "I didn't understand it, we didn't understand it. The curse, it uses the bad energy, the darkness inside a person, and it molds it into a real being."

Carlos: "So you're... everything that's bad about Y/N?"

Zelus: "In hindsight, yes."

They nod their heads in understandment.

Zelus: "After that, I spent some time on my own, going back into Sunset every now and then to see what was new. People would have conversations with me thinking it was with Y/N. I discovered a lot of things, a lot of secrets."

Mark: "You were there when we attacked?"

Zelus: "I was there at the downfall of Delta."

Mark leans back as he puts the pieces together.

Zelus: "I tricked Y/N and Clementine. They thought they were crazy when in reality, I was in front of them the whole time. I used hallucinogens on Clementine. I managed to slip them inside of her when I kissed her..."

You smile as you think back. They all listen in, intrigued.

Zelus: "You should've seen the look on her face, I can't imagine what she was thinking. I used them on Y/N as well, but didn't use the same method though. He looked like a clueless dog as he spun around."

You manage to get a chuckle out of them.

Carlos: "What about the scars?"

You drag your finger over one of the scars on your cheek.

Zelus: "M1's."

Carlos: "M1's? The people you're leading did that to you?"

Zelus: "Y/N killed an entire camp of theirs, they thought he was me. They kept me tied up for a few days until I escaped and slaughtered them all."

You look at the window as you recall that time.

Zelus: "After I killed them, I made it my mission to find their base. I realized that if they hated Y/N that much, they could help me kill him."

Mark: "Why do you want to kill Y/N? You basically are him."

Zelus: "He doesn't deserve to live. I enjoyed when he was a murderer, I enjoyed when he was a monster, a savage. But then he stopped, he stopped because of that stupid bitch girlfriend of his. Leslie."

You see Mark bite the inside of his cheek as he leans back.

Zelus: "She changed him. He wasn't showing who he really was, who he really was, was a monster. He knows it, but he refuses to accept it. It was always a blast when we would go out slaughtering people for simple things such as a water bottle. She just had to come in and ruin everything. But now she's dead, and he's broken. Which is the perfect opportunity to finally get the job done."

You stand up from your seat.

Zelus: "So, gentlemen? Are you going to aid me in the death of Y/N? Or are you gonna let me do it myself?"

They all take quick glances at each other before they each stand up.

Carlos/ Mark/ Jason: "We're in."
