Clementine x Male Reader: Enemy Within

Chapter 9

You all arrive back at Sunset and jump out of the truck. You and William roll on the floor while laughing your asses off. Carlos gets out of the backseat and watches you two while being annoyed.

Carlos: "¿Eso es gracioso, eh?"

He kicks William in his side out of frustration.

Y/N: "Ca-Carlos..."You say while still laughing.

He lightly kicks you in the leg.

Y/N: [groan] "Carlos.."

Carlos: "¿Quieres que te saque el otro ojo?"

You slowly stand up while holding your leg.

Y/N: "Carlos."

Carlos: "¿Que? Los dos piensan que solo soy un idiota?"

Y/N: "Carlos!"

Some people walking by stop and see what's going on. You wave them off and they continue walking. You put your hands on his shoulders.

Y/N: "Nobody thinks you're an idiot."

Carlos: "Oh really? That's hard to believe when you two are laughing like idiots!"

William: "We ran because of a werewolf, Carlos. A werewolf."

Y/N: "You see? A werewolf, Carlos. We ran from a mythical beast. That's why it's funny."

Carlos keeps glaring at you both.

Y/N: "Look, I don't know what the hell that was back there."

Carlos: "A were-"

Y/N: "Carlos! Think about it. Have you ever even seen the damn werewolf?"

Carlos: "No..."

Y/N: "See? We can't possibly know if it's real. Now, I'll send people down here to help you and William unload all these supplies. And if you're still bothered, I'll give you another one."

Carlos: "Another one?"

You nod.

Carlos: "Two."

Y/N: "Carlos."

Carlos: "Three."

Y/N: "Two, she gave it to me, it's for me!"

Carlos: "You have a whole pound!"

Y/N: "I have a whole lot of problems! Two or nothing."

Carlos: "Fine."

You shake his hand.

Y/N: "Good. I have to go talk with someone, come find me once you're finished."

You pat him on his back and walk away. You signal some people to help Carlos and William out.

You see Clementine sitting on her porch while staring at nothing. You decide to go over to her.

Y/N: "I'm back."

Clem: "How'd it go?"

Y/N: "Well, we got a lot of supplies from it."

She nods and looks away. You sit down next to her while holding your arm.

Clem: "Are you okay?"

She grabs your arm and starts checking it.

Y/N: "I'm fine, just a gunshot."

Clem: "A gunshot?"

Y/N: "It's nothing new, I've been shot before."

Clem: "I know, did you clean it?"

You nod. She lets go of it and sits back while looking away.

Y/N: "Are you mad?"

Clem: [sigh] "I don't know..."

Y/N: "Your sighs are cute."

Clem: [blushing] "Shut up."

Y/N: [chuckle] "It's true."

She rolls her eyes while slightly smiling.

Y/N: "Are you though?"

Clem: "I don't know, Y/N."

Y/N: "Why's that?"

Clem: "I understand the things you do, why you risk your life every single day. But there are people who are important to you, Y/N. And you push them aside to focus on your work. I get that you're still hurting over what happened and that you probably need your space. But it's time for you to fully move on, and to be there for the people who need you most. Your family."

You put your hands together and stare at the floor.

Clem: "I try to help you, but you just get angry and frustrated. I don't blame you, Y/N. But it really needs to stop. I know that there are people out there, threatening the lives of everyone here. You need to make some time for your family, Y/N. What if something happens to you? What if something happens to your family? You'll regret not being there for them for the rest of your life."

Y/N: "I know..."

Clem: "Please, Y/N. All I ask is for you to make time for everyone. Let the people who you assigned jobs to, do their jobs. You don't have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders."

Y/N: [nodding] "Okay, I'll do it."

Clem: "Really?"

Y/N: [nods] "I only ask for one thing."

Clem: "What?"

Y/N: "Us. I want us to be together."

She looks off into the distance in thought.

Y/N: "It's what we both want, and it'll make me feel much better. You also said it yourself, what if something happens to me? To you? We'll never get that chance again."

You put your hand on her leg and start rubbing it.

Y/N: "I'm tired of being friends with benefits. I'm tired of not being able to hold you in my arms and call you mine."

She looks at you in the eye.

Y/N: "Be with me, Clem."

You stare into her eyes for a second until she leans in and kisses you while holding you close.

Carlos POV

You set down the last box of supplies and the people start taking them away. William walks up to you while you wipe the sweat off your forehead.

Carlos: "Que, coño?"

William: "I'm leaving."

Carlos: "On foot?"

William: "I used one of the radios and called for pick up. I'll be leaving soon."

Carlos: "Alright. Well, it was good seeing you again, amigo."

You both shake hands.

William: "Good seeing you too. Tell Y/N it was a pleasure meeting him."

Carlos: "Oh, coño. Why don't you just go and give him a kiss, hmm?"

William: "Shut up."

Carlos: [chuckle] "Have a safe trip then."

William: "Yeah, hopefully I don't run into the "werewolf"." He mocks.

You grab a rock and throw it at him as he walks away.

Carlos: "Come mierda, no?"

William: "I'm good. Don't go betraying nobody, you hear?"

Carlos: "That's all you, amigo."

He walks away and you sit down on a nearby crate.

Carlos: "Betraying? Que carajo?"

You pull a cigarette from your back pocket and light it up.
