Clementine x Male Reader: Enemy Within

Chapter 32

Y/N POV

You drop to your knees as you feel the pain overtake your body again. You look at the claws protruding from your hands as they extend. You shut your eyes and try your hardest to fight it. You aren't able to and it starts to take full control again.

You transform into it again and let out a loud howl. It bolts through the woods on all fours. It begins to slow down and eventually crashes into a tree. It stops and holds its head as it growls. It can feel you fighting it. It hears a loud howl off in the distance. It looks around the area to source the howl. It hears it again and it lets out a howl of its own. It has fought you off and now begins to chase after the howl.

Clem POV

Mark escorts you towards the armory. Once you reach it, he opens the door and pushes you inside. You look back and scowl at him.

Mark: "Get to work, you know what to do."

You go to shut the door but he stops it.

Mark: "The Maulers will be arriving in two days. I suggest you comply with Zelus."

He pushes you aside to taunt you and closes the door. You groan and look at the guards in the room watching over some of the workers. You sigh and begin your work.

You finish sorting out your side of the armory and turn your head back to look at the guards. They stand by the door as they watch you all.

Clem: [thoughts] "Come on, Louis."

There's a loud bang at the door and the guards are startled. One of them opens the door and looks around. He sees the rock on the floor and signals the other guard. A rock hits one of the guards in the head as it falls from above. He looks up as he aims his rifle. He then signals the other guard to follow him as they leave the armory.

You sigh of relief and quickly move over to the station where the radios are. You pick one up and open up the back part. You take out the battery and stuff it into your pocket. You then quickly close the radio back up and put it back.

Right as you put it back, the door opens and Zelus walks in.

Zelus: "Well, what do we have here?"

He walks up to you and looks around.

Zelus: "You finished your work yet?"

Clem: "I'm working on it..."

You try to walk past him but he stops you.

Zelus: "So, what I asked you yesterday...?"

You look at the people behind him as they watch what happens.

Clem: "I don't know."

Zelus: "That's your final answer?"

You stay silent while glaring at him. He keeps a straight face before he grins as he claps.

Zelus: "Well, ladies and gentlemen, it looks like Clementine here has made her decision..."

He says facing them. You're a little startled when he claps.

Zelus: "You may not know this, but an army of Maulers will be arriving soon. I'm aware that you know what The Maulers are capable of..."

The air in the room starts to feel tense as you notice the workers becoming more and more worried.

Zelus: "And it's all thanks to Clementine. Remember that when they handle their business here."

He looks at all their scared faces and smiles. He walks to the door and opens it. He winks at you before he exits the armory.
