CHAPTER 6

"Go Emy!"

I could feel my heart pounding out of my chest when I heard my number and it's my turn. Nakakakaba nang sobra.

With my knees shaking, tumakbo na ako sa starting point at ibinato na sa akin ni Ate Jmie ang bola na iseserve ko. This is it!

"Go Emy! Go Emy!" I glanced at the bleachers kung nasaan ang Premium and I saw them with pink pompoms while cheering.

Ang cute!

"Sinong nakasuntok ka Sky? Emy! Sinong under si Sky? Emy! Sinong malakas? Emy! Go Emy!"

Napailing na lang ako dahil sa dance step and cheer nila. They got the nervousness out of my system and I would definitely thank them for that.

When I heard the whistle blow, I took my time para patalbugin ang bola. Mica and I have different techniques when it comes to service. I prefer jumping wallop while Mica is the best when it comes to floating service.

"Boom tarat tarat! Boom tarat tarat! Tararat tararat, boom boom boom!"

Everyone around was already laughing dahil sa kalokohan ng Premium. I could even saw Sky, having fun with them. Akala ko ay KJ siya sa tabi pero for my surprise, may hawak na din siyang pompoms at nakaheadband pa ng ribbon. Ang cute niya.

I positioned myself, ready to spike when I heard the second whistle blow and it was my cue to start serving. I was confident naman about my skills pero hindi pa din maiwasang kabahan lalo na't pinaghirapan mo ang ginagawa mo.

"Astig!" A sweet smile was plastered on my lips after I served perfectly the balls kaya mabilis akong tumakbo sa gitna to receive naman, stage 2.

"Ang kulit, igiling igiling. Ang kulit igiling giling!"

Napatawa na din ako habang pumapalo ng bola dahil sa ingay ng Premium. Their voice was the center of attraction sa buong court and I can't help just to laugh. Pasalamat sila at naipasok ko ang spikes ko at proceed na ako sa back row attacks kung hindi, lagot sila sa akin for distracting me.

Gosh, Emy! Malapit na! I keep on cheering myself up while dripping with sweat. Hindi ko na din maramdaman ang puso ko sa sobrang bilis dahil sa pagod. Wala pa akong mistake and that's  one thing  I will surely thank about later.

"Stage 4!" I immediately positioned myself for my back row attacks at halos everywhere ay filled ng panghihinayang nang hindi ko maipasok ang unang spike ko.
