CHAPTER 10

"Senyorita, nasa baba na po 'yung inorder niyo kagabi!"

I lazily stood up, yawning when I heard our maid's voice behind the door. It's already monday and almost 1 day kong pinag-isipan ang regalong ibibigay ko kay Demon.

It's my birthday and thank you gift for him dahil sa mga ginawa niya sa EK last Saturday. I ordered acoustic guitar online. I didn't even know kung magugustuhan niya, but at least I tried.

"Thanks, Kuya!" I signed the received item and immediately went back to my room to prepare. Baka ma-late na naman ako sa class.

Wala namang nangyare sa akin kahapon. I killed my hours yesterday by searching for the best guitar shop.  It's already 7PM at may klase ako ng 8AM sa Phil. Histo., the boring class, but good thing na blocmates kami ni Mica at Alice.

Mabilis akong nag-bihis ng uniform and I applied very light make-up then went to school as fast as I could but the traffic was so dreadful.

I arrived at exact 8AM kaya halos takbuhin ko na ang blocroom ko. I sighed as a sign of relief nang makitang wala pa sa loob ang prof ko dahil for sure lagot na naman ako kung nagkataon.

"Gosh, I'm late!" padabog na ibinagsak ni Mica ang bag niya as she gave me a peck on my cheeks. "Late din si Alice? Aga natin, Sissy, ah?"

"Actually kararating ko lang. How's your weekend?" I asked her habang inilalagay ang bag ko sa upuan sa tabi ko para i-reserve kay Alice.

"Tiring and fun," She laughed at halos sabay kaming napalingon sa pinto nang makita ang nagmamadaling pumasok na si Alice. She looked so stressed dahil hindi pa siya nakakasuklay man lang.

"Thank God!" She uttered as she took the seat beside me. "Para saan 'yang gitara, Emy? Marunong ka?" She suddenly asked and I could feel my face heated dahil I found it corny to give him a gift.

"Uhm—" I didn't let to finish my thoughts nang biglang pumasok ang prof namin. Thanks to her. Bakit ba kasi ako nahihiya na sabihin na for Demon 'yon? There's nothing wrong naman to give a birthday gift.

"Okay Class, I would like to announce the schedule of your Prelim, Thursday and Friday. You have two days to finish you exams and based sa result ng prelim exam niyo ang magiging first ranking niyo this year." Our prof explained. I arched my brow on her out of curiosity dahil hindi ako na-inform na may ranking.

"May ranking?" I asked the girls.

"Yes, Sissy. There's a ranking after the exam. Mahalaga ang ranking dito. Kapag nakapasok ka sa top, malaking advantage mo. Students will look up to you and you will become one of the dean's lister plus the respect of all the students. Hindi ka din mabubully," Mica answered.

"Aside from that, mixed ang ranking mula different courses hanggang sa sections ng by year kaya mahirap talagang makapasok sa ranking. Ako nga bago makapasok sa top 30, hirap na hirap na!" Alice added. "Biruin mo, sa lahat ng 2nd year, 30 lang ang mapipili. Means, 'yung 30 lang na 'yon ang nag-top!"

"Kaya din sikat ang Premium kasi kasali sila sa top 30. Sky on the top 6, Andrew on the top 15, si Marcus on the top 21, David on the top 24 and Mark on the top 26!" Mica giggled at nag-apir pa sila ni Alice.

"Ikaw, Sissy? Top what ka?" I asked Mica.

"Top 27, kaya kailangan kong pagbutihin ang prelim ko. Ayokong mawala sa ranking. Grabe kasi si Kyla! Top 27 din siya tapos biglang nawala sa ranking and yo'n, she got bullied. Ayoko namang mangyare sa akin yo'n. Buti ka nga Emy hindi ka siguro mabubully, sikat ka, e!"
