CHAPTER 19

“Sky! Nice seeing you here again!”

I stared on his awkward face nang makipag-kamay sa kaniya si Ate Nayz and Kuya Jake, our youth leader.

“Ininvite po ako ni Emerald,” He glanced at me and smiled.

“Nice, Emy! Desidido talaga ha!” Ate Nayz tapped my shoulder and I already knew what she's talking about. “Dalaga ka na talaga!”

“Ate Nayz naman! Parang hindi naman kayo ganito ni Kuya Jake dati ah!” I teased her dahil I really love how their relationship started. It's just an ideal for me. They are both serving and leaders of our ministry.

“Foul!” Kuya Jake messed my hair up at nauna nang pumasok sa loob ng church as we trailed behind him.

I glanced at Demon who's still curious about what's happening in Bible Study or cell groups and I can't help but to smile. “Tara na!” I pulled him with me at naupo sa vacant seat sa bandang likuran.

Our Bible Study got started. Pansin ko na sobrang tahimik ni Demon sa tabi ko and he was just listening and jotting down some notes in my journal notebook.

“God's timing will never been late nor too early. He's just preparing your heart for something that will surely change your life,”

I smiled to myself while listening to Kuya Jake. The message of this cell group was too clear for me. Nakaka-touch ng puso and ang dami kong realization in life mostly in building my faith.

“Ang tahimik mo!” I said as he held my hand and closed his eyes for a moment.

“Thank you, Lord, for giving me this girl. I'm sure that in your perfect timing, I will become the happiest man alive,” He whispered. “Your will is always worth the wait, Amen,”

I smiled a mile big dahil 'yon ang unang beses ko siyang narinig mag-dasal. I am used to hear him saying bad words and doing bad things but this one touched my heart.

“Are you happy?” tanong ko.

“Yeah. I've never been experienced this kind of feeling. Hindi ko maipaliwanag ang nararamdaman ko,” He looked away and obviously, he's up to something again.

“What do you mean?”

“I don't really know how to stand here inside with the fact that outside, I am one of the most sinful man ever alive,” He said that made me stunned. “Honestly, I felt guilty. Sa dami ng kasalanan ko, nagawa ko pa ding sumimba, mag-dasal at uma-attend ng bible study,”

“Sky, hindi madamot ang Diyos. Hindi siya mas pabor sa mga malinis at banal na tao. Ang gusto ng Panginoon ay ang taong handang talikuran at pagsisihan ang mga kasalanan niya.” I held his hand when I saw that it was already trembling and his face is already turning red.

“Hiyang-hiya ako, Emerald. I don't even know why I'm here in the first place,” He looked down but I held his chin to make him look into my eyes.

“Kasi lahat ng bagay ay plinano ng Diyos. Ako, naniniwala ako na hindi lang nagkataon na nandito ka. Naniniwala ako na plano at kalooban ni Lord kung bakit ka nandito,” I said as he slowly give me a nod.
