CHAPTER 31

“You ready?”

“I'm really nervous!” I answered and went inside his car.

“Wala ka namang dapat ikakaba. You win four time this competition at ngayong championship ka pa ba kakababahan?” Demon said habang iniikot ang sasakyan.

It's been weeks since we went to Baguio. It went really hard for all of us lalo pa't may mga schedule ng photo shoot and runway modeling then almost whole day na kami sa training plus the studies.

The competition got started last week and today gaganapin ang championship kaya hindi ako nakatulog nang maayos kagabi. I'm excited because finally, matatapos na ang pinaghirapan namin, but nervous at the same time because of the what ifs on my head.

“I don't know. Ikaw ba bukas hindi kakabahan?” I asked him kaya napalingon siya sa akin.

He smiled and shrugged. “Hindi. Manonood ka, eh. Sure win na!”

“Ang hangin mo talaga!” I rolled my eyes on him kaya natawa siya. “'Wag masyadong kampante!”

“Honest lang, Love!” He bit his lower lip at nag-pacute pa. “But honestly, I want to make you proud kaya I'll surely do my hundred and one percent on the game.”

“Sana all! Tinatawanan mo pa nga ako kapag may error ako, eh!” I rolled my eyes again dahil I could clearly remember how he laughed at me nang nag-error ang spike ko yesterday.

“Hindi, ha! Si Jmie ang pinagtatawanan namin. Susugod na sana sa kalaban sa pikon!” He laughed again kaya natawa din ako.

“Short tempered talaga 'yon lalo na kapag pagod,” I said and I could feel my heart pounding out of chest when we entered the Sport's Arena.

“Good luck, Sweetie!” Mom kissed my cheeks pagdating namin sa loob.

“Thanks, Mom!” I smiled and greeted my Dad also. “Punta na po ako sa quarters. I need to prepare pa po.”

“Good luck, Love! Nasa loob na daw ang Premium.” He kissed the top of my head first before he handed me a paper bag full of chocolates and energy drinks.

“Thank you!” I waved my hand before I turned my way to our quarters.

“Emy! Nagkakagulo na mga tao sa labas! Daming supporters!” Salubong sa akin ni Ate Arlene at mukha siya lang 'yung chill sa loob ng quarters. Everyone was tensed and quiet. “Grabe talaga! Akala ko may concert ka mamaya, e!”

“Sira ka talaga, Ate!” I laughed the tension off at tumayo na si Ate Jmie to talk with us including our coach.

“Just do your best, okay? Manalo o matalo, ginawa natin ang best natin!” Ate Jmie tapped my shoulder and I sighed.

“We trust you, guys. I know na our hard works will be all worth it in the end of this day.” I said and I lead the prayer before we ran towards the court for our warm up.

The crowd boomed when we stepped out on the court and I smiled when I saw the Premium with my parents and Demon, cheering habang may tig-iisang hawak na balloon letters ng name ko.
