I woke up in my bed the next morning. Everyone had left, so I was alone. I didn't bother checking my phone. I didn't want to be bothered right now. I jumped in the shower and let the warm water flow over my body for a couple of minutes. I got out of the shower and put clothes on and dried and brushed my long brown hair. I put shoes on and grabbed my phone and keys. I left my flat for Starbucks, not forgetting to lock the door behind me. I walked to Starbucks and ordered my coffee and left for work, saying thank you on my way out.
When I got to work, I saw I concerned looking Niall, so I decided to go talk to him.
"Hey." I simply said
"Hey. How ya feelin'?" He replied
"Ok, I guess. You?"
"I'm good. I miss the happy and upbeat Addy though."
"She'll be back." I smiled. "Just not today."
"So who's this Addy then?" He questioned
"The one who's got a massive headache that won't go away and is going to be late for work. I'll see you after work?" I said, putting it as a question
"Yup, sounds good. See you then."
"Alright then, cool. Bye. Have a nice day."
"Bye Addy."
I unlocked the door to my studio and flicked on the lights. I figured that I wouldn't be able to sing today since my voice was a bit harsh from crying so much yesterday, so I sat down at the table and tried to write some new, fresh songs. I sat down with a pencil in my hand and nothing came to my head. I sat there, thinking, and trying to stay awake. I eventually dozed off, with my head on the desk and on top of my papers, my hand still on the desk with the pencil in it, and my other hand on my lap. I don't know how long I was asleep, but it felt like only a couple minutes. I woke up to Niall knocking on the doorframe and saying my name, trying to wake me up. You could tell that he didn't want to wake me because I was peacefully resting, but I couldn't sleep forever, sadly.
I woke up, obviously looking a bit confused because Niall asked me if I was ok.
"You good?"
"Yea, I'm fine."
"Well you look tired. How about we go walk to Starbucks and pick up some coffee?"
"Yes, coffee. I need coffee. That sounds great."
"Alright then. I'm paying."
"What?! No! I can pay for my drink! I have money you know."
"I know, but I'm still paying. Consider it a favor from a friend."
"Alright fine, but I'm paying for my own drink next time." I didn't have the energy to fight, and he probably knew this, so I just agreed to it. I didn't bother cleaning up at all and just flicked off the lights and closed and locked the door.
We walked to Starbucks and made smalltalk on the short walk there, it wasn't too far away from our work, so it didn't take long to get there. We walked in and ordered our drinks. We agreed on not staying, but walking back to my flat while we drink our coffee.
"So...our date." Niall said, bringing up the topic of our date that still had to be planned
"Oh yes, our date. What about it?"
"Well, when do you want it to be?"
"It depends on what we're doing."
"Hmm."
"How about we just do Netflix and chill. It'll give us a chance to get to know each other more."
"Alright, well if that's the case, then how about tomorrow after work?"
"Works for me, I don't have anything planned."
"Great. How about 7 PM then?"
"That works. Do you plan everything at 7 PM? Is that like your favorite time or something?"
"I guess you'll have to figure that out for yourself, eh?"
"Oh come on, that's not fair. You know I don't have the energy to fight right now."
He just shrugged and let out a small laugh and we continued to walk to my flat and talk about whatever came to our minds. He was a lot of fun to talk to, I really enjoyed spending time with him. I walked up to my flat door and placed my coffee on the desk that sat up against the wall by the door. I stuck my key in the keyhole and started to unlock the door when I was interrupted by Niall saying my name.
"Addy, wait."
"Yea, what's up?"
"I just wanted to say...thanks...for...today." He tried to speak, but we got lost in each others eyes and at a loss for words.
He placed his coffee down and stepped towards me. He put his hands on my hips and pulled me closer to him. He kept looking into my eyes. He looked from my eyes to my lips slowly, biting his bottom lip in the process. Just kiss me already! Don't be a tease! I yelled at him, although he couldn't hear me because I never verbally said it. He leaned in and placed his warm, soft lips up against mine. Our lips seemed to fit together perfectly, like it was meant to be. I kissed him back, of course. My heart stopped, and I'm sure his did too. The moment was perfect and I didn't ever want it to end. I wish I could just freeze the moment and keep time just like this forever.
We pulled away from the kiss, his hands still on my hips, my hands still tangled in his hair. We both let out a small chuckle and stayed there for a few moments.
"Well, I should get going, I have to finish some things for the party on Saturday. Text me?"
"Alright, sounds good. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Alright, bye Addy."
"Bye Niall."
I walked into my flat and took my coffee, noticing that Niall left his coffee as well. I picked up our coffee and headed inside, shutting and locking the door behind me. I pulled out my phone and texted him.
Addy: You left your coffee dumbass :)
Niall: Oh shit. I guess I forgot, that kiss was so good I forgot my name for a couple moments :)
Addy: Oh shut up, you're just saying that.
Addy: Anyway, what do you want me to do with it?
Niall: Am not.
Niall: And just chuck it.
Addy: Wow, what a waste of coffee.
Niall: I mean, you can drink it if you want.
Addy: Hmm. What is it?
Niall: Black
Addy: Ew, no, I'm chucking it
Niall: Wow, what a waste of coffee
Addy: It's ok, it's not like it was good coffee anyway
Niall: I agree. It was my first time trying it, I didn't enjoy it too much
Addy: Should have just stuck with what you know to be good.
Addy: I'll see you later then Niall
Niall: Ok, bye Addy
With that, I turned off my phone and ate some dinner and dozed off in my bed again, getting plenty of rest for my date with Niall tomorrow night.
