Chapter Thirty-Eight - Back To Work

"Baby, you gotta wake up." Niall said trying to wake me up. I fluttered my eyes open to see Niall hovering above me.

"Hey." I whispered

"Hey baby. We have work, we gotta get Elaine ready."

"Hmm. Ok."

"We'll pick up a new bed after work."

"Haha. Ok." I stood up and winced at the first step. I was sore from last night, but god that brought me so much pleasure.

"You ok?"

"Yea."

"Sore?"

"Yup." I said popping the p

"Yea. Last night was pretty great."

"I agree."

"We should do that more often."

"Haha, yea, but how often is it that we have Elaine out of the house?"

"Oh shit. True."

We walked up to the nursery and slowly opened the door. There she was. Our little princess, still fast asleep in her crib.

"Wait." I said

"What?"

"Did she sleep the whole night?"

"Oh my god, I think so!"

"Oh my god! That's great!" I walked over to her crib, Niall following me, and started to wake our sleeping beauty.

"Good morning princess." I quietly said. "Wake up baby girl." I picked her up out of her crib, she was still sleeping.

"Let's just let her sleep baby. She'll wake up soon."

"Ok. I hope she's not getting sick."

"It'll be ok. Don't worry."

"Ok." Sure enough, she woke up as soon as I laid her on the changing table so I could change her diaper. "There's those beautiful eyes! There's those beautiful eyes!" I said, talking to Elaine. Niall had walked out of the room so he could measure the bed and get ready. Elaine hadn't laughed since the first time she laughed. She mainly just cooed and made baby noises. We've been trying to get her to laugh, but she doesn't want to do it. Her smile is the cutest thing though. She shows off her gums when she smiles and her eyes light up.

"Are my two princesses ready to go?"

"Yep. Let's go."

We headed out the door to the coffee shop to pick up some coffee for Niall and I. We walked into the studio, a couple minutes early. We ran into our boss who said he wanted to talk to us, so we followed him to his office.

"I want to send you on tour."

"Which one of us are ya talking to?" Niall asked, clearly not wanting to be away from me or Elaine.

"Both of you. Together. And you can bring Elaine. I think it'll draw fans in having you two perform together and bring your adorable baby." This got me excited.

"That sounds great!" Niall said

"Yea, but is it ok to bring Elaine on the plane?" I asked, not wanting my baby girl to be hurting in any way. I've heard that the pressure is hard on babies.

"The pressure might be a bit hard on her ears, but we've got solutions to that. If she's sleeping then it might not brother her, but we can always give her some earplugs as well."

"Baby, it'll be fun. Just the three of us. What do you say?"

"Ok. We'll do it."

"Great then, I'll have you leave at the new year."

"Alright." We walked out of his office and said goodbye to each other so we could get to work. I took Elaine with me today. Tomorrow Niall will take her.

"Hey Addy. I just thought I would drop by and say hello." I heard someone say. Their voice was familiar. Too familiar. I looked up to see him. Jace. Jace was a bitch, he emotionally and mentally abused me at the age of 15. How the hell did he find me? "I see you have a baby now."

"How did you find me Jace? You're not supposed to be here."

"I have my ways."

"What do you want?"

"I want you. I want that baby to be mine."

"Well you can't have them. They're mine." I heard Niall say. He must have sensed that something was wrong and came to check up on me.

"Well she'll be mine once I get rid of you." Jace said. No. This can't be happening. I started to cry. I didn't want anything to happen to Niall. Jace pulled out a gun and aimed it at Niall. How the hell did he get here? And especially with a gun!

"Jace, put the gun down."

"Not until you're mine."

"SECURITY!!" Niall yelled. No luck.

"SHUT UP OR I WILL PULL THE TRIGGER!!" I remembered that there was an emergency button under my desk that would call the police and send security. I was standing right by my desk, so I pushed the button, and thankfully Jace didn't see me, but Niall did and gave me a small smile.

"You won't get away with this Jace." I said.

"YES I WILL!! AND YOURE COMING WITH ME!!" He came in and grabbed my arm. Niall was able to take Elaine from me. Security showed up at my studio to see Jace holding a gun to my head.

"Niall." I cried

"Baby, it'll be ok. It's all gonna be ok."

"I love you Niall."

"I love you too Princess."

"POLICE!! PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR!!"

Jace stepped away from me and started to walk to the police. Something's not right. He never gave up this easily. What was he going to do. Right before he got to the police, he turned and shot me. I looked down at my stomach that was bleeding, I put my hands on my stomach to try and stop the blood. I looked up to see Niall crying and handing Elaine to one of the police officers. My vision got blurry and I fell to the floor, but Niall caught me and sat down on the floor with me in his arms.

"Addy! Baby talk to me."

"Niall."

"Baby I'm right here. Stay with me. It's gonna be ok. You're gonna be ok."

"I love you Niall." I said and then my vision went black.
