"Congratulations you two. Your baby is healthy and so is the mother. Would you like to know the gender?" The doctor said at my ultrasound appointment.
"I thought we had to wait another month." I said
"Well I can tell you the gender right now, would you like to know it or not?" I looked at Niall. We both smiled.
"Yes please." Niall said
"Alright. Congratulations! You are having a baby girl! And she is very healthy!" The doctor said as she left the room
"A baby girl. Niall, we're having a baby girl." I cried into his shirt
"I know. Imma have two princesses."
We walked out of the doctors office and to our car, which was packed with all we needed for our beach vacation. We drove to the beach. I fell asleep on the way there. This pregnancy was making me super tired all the time. I guess that meant the baby is growing though. We're having a baby girl. I couldn't be more happy. And neither could Niall.
It was the second day of our beach trip. We left for home tomorrow. I was sitting on the couch, looking out at the waves when I felt a little flutter in my stomach. Wait. Was that a kick? I felt it again. It was definitely a kick. Our baby girl was kicking!!
"Niall get in here!! Hurry!!" Niall ran into the room and by my side in a matter of seconds. Damn, I know I said hurry, but it's no emergency
"What is it Princess? Are you ok? Is the baby ok?" Niall asked concerned
"Yes Niall, we're both fine. Here. Feel this." I said as I placed his hand where I felt the baby kicking"Was that a kick? Oh my god! She's kicking! She's kicking!" I sat there and smiled. I have the most amazing boyfriend in the world and a baby girl on the way. And Niall was super excited to be a dad. He's said that as soon as we get back home, we're going shopping and painting the nursery and buying clothes for me and the baby. Shopping spree!
"We need to pick a name." I brought up the fact that our baby is still unnamed.
"Hmmm. What about Patricia?"
"Nah. That sounds like an old person name." We both laughed.
"Ruby?"
"Nah." We thought for a moment. "I got it!" I said excitedly
"Tell me."
"How about we name her Elaine?"
"It's perfect. Now what about her middle name?" He asked "How about Faith. Since this is taking a lot of faith, being our first baby and all."
"Elaine Faith. I like it."
"And for last name?" He asked
"Horan. Elaine Faith Horan. It's perfect."
"I agree. So it's settled. Elaine Faith Horan it is."
"Elaine Faith Horan it is." I repeated. Niall pulled out his phone. I felt mine buzz so I looked at it. Niall mentioned me in a tweet.
@AddyCOfficial 4 more months until our precious little Elaine Faith Horan is born. 4 months.
@NiallOfficial holy shit. Only 4 months? I told you the time would go by faster than we would like it to.
@AddyCOfficial you did say that. But only 4 months. 4 months and we can hold our precious daughter in our arms
@NiallOfficial yep. Only 4 months. I still can't believe she kicked for the first time today. It's the beach. I'm telling you
@AddyCOfficial looks like she's a beach girl, just like her momma
@NiallOfficial you got that right.
We laughed at each other and put our phones away. Niall fell asleep on the couch next to me, so I decided to snap a picture of him and post it on Twitter for him to see in the morning.
@NiallOfficial I thought I was the one who was supposed to fall asleep first. Someone needs his beauty rest :)
I soon fell asleep too. Niall woke up the next day while I was still sleeping, so as revenge, he snapped a picture of me and posted it on Twitter.
@AddyCOfficial I may have fallen asleep first, but I woke up before you. Looks like someone needs her beauty sleep :) Even though she doesn't really need it. I guess looking that beautiful all the time can be exhausting eh?
After I woke up I saw his tweet and just smiled to myself. We headed home later that day and crashed on the couch as soon as we got home. That trip was fucking amazing. It couldn't have been better.
