Nyx POV

Run! I screamed at myself. Run to her! Help her! But I couldn't. My legs refused to carry me and so here I was standing helpless in the kitchen watching her being dissected by that smug bastard.

The sinister smile that was plastered on his lips and her blood splattered all over his face made my skin crawl and my stomach churn. His dagger slices through her flesh bit by bit slowly, taking pleasure in her screams and pleas for mercy.

I look up at watch as my father just stands there. Emotionless.

"Help her! Daddy Help her!! Stop him!" I scream furiously at him. He doesn't even budge. I glance helplessly between him and that bastard.

"Dad please! Stop this! Help her dammit! Help Her!" I scream as loud as I can as hard as I can but still he doesn't even look my way. Realizing that I can't stop it from happening I sink to my knees, tears running down my face.

Soon her pleas stop and there's just the sound of metal piercing through flesh. I started to shake, my mother was dead and I just stood there watching her. I looked up at my father, watched as he just lowered his head and crossed his arms.

The bastard stood up, blood dripping off of him and turned to my father, "See this as a warning, either you deliver Nyx to me on her 18th birthday or you will suffer the same fate. You swore your allegiance to me Luke. You know she's the chosen one from the prophecy."

My father looked up at him, his eyes empty of all emotion and nodded, "You'll have her. This was a waste of your time Roman. Katherine did nothing to you. I wasn't backing out of the prophecy." His voice was too calm for me. It lacked any type of emotion and all it did was piss me off.

Roman chuckled darkly, "Now now Luke surely you don't take me for an idiot? I knew the moment you left the Coven that you were trying to hide her from me. She will be mine Luke. Regardless of what you try to do or how hard you try to hide her. I have eyes everywhere and you know I will never give up on what I claim as mine."

Roman smirked and turned, leaving the house through the back door as the sirens started approaching. I screamed. I screamed louder than I ever thought possible.

"Nyx...!" that voice... it sounded so familiar.

"Nyx! Come on baby come back to me!'

I shot up out of bed and threw myself onto the floor fighting the comforter of my bed, gasping for breath. Damien jumped up and pulled me into his arms, running his hands up and down my back.

"Hey, hey baby it's okay I'm here." he cooed softly to me. I looked up at him, my vision cloudy from the tears that kept spilling over.

"D-damien I-I-I saw h-him kill my m-mo-mother. R-roman killed her!" I sobbed, pressing my face into his bare chest wrapping my arms around him.

He kept rubbing my back and sighed softly, "It was only a nightmare darlin'. I won't let him get anywhere near you. I promise you that. You're mine." My arms tightened around his waist slightly before I pulled back and sniffled up at him.

"I love you Damien..." I whispered up to him, my eyes looking into his. He smiled down at me before leaning down and placing a soft kiss onto my lips.

"I love you too Nyx." He whispered back. I rested my head against his chest and closed my eyes.

"What are we going to do about this Damien? Roman isn't going to stop until he has me. My father gave me to him to fill a damn prophecy and I have no idea what that entails. All I know is that he and I are to be wed and soon to fulfill it." I peaked up at and saw the flash of rage in his eyes before it was quickly replaced with sympathy and love.

"We will figure it out darlin'. Right now we need to get you back into bed to try and get some genuine restful sleep. It's pretty late and the New York chapter just got into town not too long ago. They're passed out in the living room." He chuckled and I groaned, that meant that my house was filled to the brim with bikers and that if any more showed up surely it would burst at the seams.

"Great, so that means they all heard me having my nightmare." I sighed and closed my eyes. He chuckled again and kissed the top of my head gently.

"Be that as it may, they won't judge you for it. A lot of them have nightmares almost every damn night." I open my eyes slowly and look up at him.

"Regardless I don't want to have them all show me pity." I grumble, standing up and climbing back into bed, pulling the comforter with me. Damien chuckles again and slides into bed next to me, pulling me against his body.

"Trust me, they won't. They don't pity anyone and if they do, they don't show it. You'll be fine. Besides, everyone from New York is eager to meet you." He kissed the back of my head and I rolled my eyes.

"Great. Let's just get to sleep so we can get everything over with..." I growl, closing my eyes and snuggling closer to him. He laughed lightly before giving me another kiss and pulling the comforter up a tad higher to cover us better.

I listened to his breathing slow to a steady even rhythm before slowly falling back to sleep in his arms.
