Silence filled my home, the tv had been turned off, my boots and jacket had been removed and lay neatly on the coffee table. I blinked a few times before rubbing my eyes with the palms of my hands wondering if Rip had returned.

I sat up slowly, listening to the silence. It was too quiet. I felt eyes on me but I didn't know from where. All the curtains were drawn closed but I could still tell that it was definitely night time. I patted my jeans and realized that my phone was missing.

My heart rate shot up and my eyes scanned the darkness of my living room, searching for the intruder. Who was here? Who touched me?

I took a few deep breaths before slowly standing up. I turned around and noticed a figure standing in the hallway. Even with the darkness I could see that the figure was male and covered head to toe in a deep brown cloak. His hands and feet covered with what seemed to be the same dinghy material.

I drank in his image, memorizing the way his body looked under the cloak. He was muscular for sure, he could incapacitate me without breaking a sweat. His gloved hands were quite large, just a tad bigger than Rips.

He looked lethal, surreal, as if he was from another time, perhaps even another realm if you believed in that kind of thing.

That's when I noticed something clung to his hip beneath the cloak as he took a single step forwards. It startled me, but what scared me more was the fact that the step he took was silent.

He had made absolutely no noise with the step. Not even the shifting of the fabric of his cloak made a sound. I searched the hooded figure's face that was hidden beneath darkness. I couldn't see features, couldn't see eyes, or his smile but I could feel them.

I could feel his sickening sweet smile and his piercing eyes. I froze when he lifted his hand slowly and pulled aside his cloak to reveal that he had a silver dagger. My heart quickened and as I thought over what I could do to rid this person of it I heard him speak.

His voice was low, deep, husky, it filled the silence and commanded no, demanding my attention.

"There will be no need for that little Raven. I mean you no harm as did I when I visited your mother and father all those years ago... such a shame really... two useful minds wasted based off of a minor misunderstanding."

I gassed, he knew what happened to them. Why they died, why they were taken from me. I could feel my body start to shake as the rage took over, "Who are you?" I growled taking a step closer, clenching my hands into fist tightly at my sides ready to fight.

"Ah my sweet little Raven there will be time for that later. I've come simply with a warning, you must stop seeing that heathen from the bar. You'll only cause more suffering. I don't have much time before I take my leave. You don't have long either before they come for you." He held out both hands out to me as if he wanted to embrace me in a hug.

I glared at him, even in the dark I could see he was enjoying this. I lost control, letting my body take over what my mind was telling me to do. I charged him, bringing my hands up and swinging at him.

It was hopeless. He was much too fast. His left hand caught my wrists while his right arm snaked around my waist and pulled me against him. I used all my strength trying to break free of his grasp which only caused him to chuckle, "Let go of me!" I screamed venomously.

He used his right arm to swing me around to where my back was pressed against his chest as he leaned down to speak directly into my ear, "Now now my little Raven. It'd be in your best interest to remain obedient. You've done well with your search and the time draws near for the truth to be revealed. Your betrothed will be very distressed if he finds any harm to come to you. I must take my leave. Remember, you must end this relationship with that biker immediately. I'd rather not have to kill again."

Before I could register what he was saying I felt a cloth being pressed against my face. A semi-sweet and bitter fragrance filled my nose and soon I could feel my body becoming heavier.

Darkness was engulfing me and I heard soft laughter filling the air. I felt I was being lifted and taken towards my bedroom before I was fully taken by the darkness.
