"What happened?" I asked Uno while we are sitting in the sofa. He was holding my hand and playing with my fingers. Nakayuko lang siya at mukhang malalim ang iniisip.

I can hear him every time he sighs, nakailang buntong hininga na siya. Nakailang tanong na rin ako sa kaniya pero hindi pa rin siya sumasagot pero okay lang naman. Kung kailan siya ready ay saka niya sabihin sa akin.

"If ever there will be a time that you need to go against with your own family, would you do it?" Tumingin siya sa akin nang itanong niya iyon. I was taken aback sa bigla niyang pagtatanong pero napaisip din naman ako kung sa paanong paraan ako magiging against kay Papa.

"Depends upon the reason, why?" Muli niyang itinuon ang tingin sa kamay ko na nasa lap niya kaya nakayuko siyang muli ngayon kasabay nang muli niyang pagbuntong hinga.

"You know what, I gave up a lot of things to satisfy my family but I guess they never saw me as their son." Uno's still looking down. Ayaw niya akong tignan, maybe because he's vulnerable right now and he doesn't want me to see it.

"I feel like a fucking investment." He scoffed. Bumitaw ako sa pagkakahawak niya sa kamay ko so that I could place his head on my shoulder.

"Did something happened where you need to go against your family?" He slightly nodded.

"We needed to do it, I told my parents about it but they gave me a good scolding tapos sinumbatan nila ako."

"We?" I asked as I played with his hair

"Yeah, it has something to do with Dos," he answered.

"Dos is your family, too." I told him. I sighed, hindi ko alam kung ano ba ang tama kong sabihin lalo na hindi ko naman alam ang nangyayari.

"That makes it more complicated." He bitterly laughed. I feel like kaya mas naging busy siya this time ay dahil sa family problem niya. Medyo naguilty tuloy ako na wala man lang akong magawa para sa kaniya.

"Kung ano ang tama doon ka dapat lagi, hindi porket kamag-anak mo o ano, kasi if you don't go against someone who you knew is in the wrong side para mo na ring sinabi sa kanila na okay lang 'yung ginagawa nila," I explained though it's just from my point of view for now, iba pa rin kasi kapag ikaw 'yung nasa situation e.

Iba kapag first hand.

"I'm glad that I have you," he said in a relieved tone and it made me smile.

"Gasgas na linya na 'to but I swear nandito lang ako para sa'yo. " Inalis niya ang ulo niya mula sa pagkakasandal sa balikat ko para tignan ako.

I smiled at him. "Palagi," dugtong ko pa.

Maybe I was gone for years in his life, I wasn't able to be there whenever he can't deal with something, but now, I promise he can lean on me and that I will be his great support when life throw him rocks.

A month passed by and Uno's staying already in my condo, sakto lang rin pala kasi he can't go home to his uncle's house na rin. I also learned about the situation they are in-- him, Dos, and Tres.

It was messy to be honest but I am proud of them, they've endured a lot so I'm just waiting for them to ask me for help because I will gladly help. I might ask my father about it kapag kailangan na talaga.

It's really the hardest if you have to go against your own family, it is too emotional and personal but then again if it's needed to be done then so be it.

You don't tolerate someone's wrong doings just because you love them. You can always love them without tolerating them, it will be hard but for sure it will be worth it even though it comes with a great sacrifice.
