Charlie's P.O.V.
My days in this room have been boring lately. I've probably read all of the books in our tiny library and the food is getting old. My mom hasn't tried to call me which I'm thankful for. I was always so shy back home. Being in here has showed me not to be, I'm happy I came here now. I told my mom that if she took me, I would never trust her again. She didn't hesitate. Why? Do I truly mean so less to her?
"Ms. Miller." The guard calls.
I open the door and walk out to the phone.
"Hmm?" I ask, putting it to my ear.
"Don't expect me to call anymore." Cole's voice says.
"Wha-" I begin.
He hangs up interrupting me. What the hell was that about? Ugh.
If only I knew.
I walk back to my room but my name is called again. I groan and walk to the phone again.
"Hello?" I ask.
"Hey, how're you?" Madi asks.
"Good, haven't heard from you in a while." I say honestly.
"I'm sorry, I'm so stressed." She says.
I close my eyes as I listen to her sighs, "It's okay."
"You'r sister is a horrible human being." She says.
I smile, "A bitch."
"Wow, Bitch, I like it." She laughs.
"I'm over the whole good shit, it's all too fake." I say.
"I can't wait to see you soon." She says.
I can imagine her beautiful smile, "I know, just a month to go."
"Get some sleep and I'll call soon." She says.
"Wait, are your grades good?" I ask.
"Straight A's, mom." She jokes.
"Good night." I say, ending the call.
Cat's P.O.V.
I walk into school early to meet up with Madi. Things haven't been the same since Charlie went away. When we hung out, something was just missing. It was Charlie.
Madi spots me from afar and smiles.
"Hey." I sigh.
"Hey, I talked to Charlie yesterday." She tells me.
"Good, how is she?" I ask.
"She's good, just bored." She says with a short laugh.
"Great to hear my girl is doing well." I say.
She nods, "Just some shit went down with Cole."
"What? How do you know?" I ask
"I heard it in the halls." She says frowning.
"What is it?" I ask.
"Cole is really pissed for reasons we don't know but it was caused by a guy." She says with a small smile.
"What's with the smile?" I ask.
"He seems... jealous." She says.
"No way does Charlie have a guy on her." I say smiling.
She nods, "But those are rumors."
"Let's talk to him." I suggest.
"You can, I have chemistry." She scoffs.
I roll my eyes and walk away. Time to find Cole Smith.
