Tyler took a seat awkwardly next to me. We all welcomed him with smiles.
"How'd you guys meet?" Cat asks.
"He was being descent human being." I laugh.
He nods in agreement, "I would call it, helping a beautiful girl who needed it."
Madi and Cat make eyes at me, "You're quite the gentleman." Madi says.
"Thanks." He laughs, "I was just raised right."
"That makes one of us." I mutter.
"She hasn't had the best time, but let's keep it positive." Madi says.
He nods hesitantly, "Okay."
"So, what made you notice Charlie?" Cat asks.
"I already had," He smiles, "She's smart, cute, funny, and confident."
I blush, I wasn't good with compliments.
"That's nice." Madi says, "What are your plans?"
"What?" He asks.
"With her?" Cat asks.
"Guys." I warn.
"I actually have a question." He shifts towards me.
I look at him worried, then over to Madi and Cat who are staring at him.
"Yes?" I ask.
"Could I take you out tomorrow?" He asks.
"Um... sure." I say.
"Great." He chirps.
Madi and Cat smile at me then move to Tyler.
"Well, I have to get going." Tyler says, standing.
"See you later." I say.
"Hope so." He jokes.
When the door closes, Madi and Cat pound the table.
"Girl!" Cat squeaks.
"What?" I ask.
"He's your new man!" Madi points out.
"It's one date." I say nonchalantly.
"Exactly." Madi says.
I roll my eyes, "Are you sure?" Cat asks.
"Sure of what?" I ask.
"You're not just doing it so you don't think about Cole?" She says.
"Cole and I are friends, nothing more." I assure her, or myself.
They both nod in an unbelieving look. We continue to talk and eat for a while until leaving.
When I walk through the front door, I stay quiet and sneak up to my room. When I lock the door behind me, my phone buzzes in my pocket.
Who's the guy? - Cole
What are you? A stalker? - Me
No, just happened to be there - Cole
With who? - Me
Wouldn't you like to know - Cole
I can see his smirk as I read it again.
Oliver - Me
Maybe - Cole
You only like me and Oliver so I'd say so - Me
I like Oliver and tolerate you - Cole
Whatever floats your boat - Me
Who's the guy? - Cole
Not that it's your business, Tyler - Me
Tyler? - Cole
Yeah, now leave me be - Me

Cole - Yeah, I want to know if he can make you feel...
I shut off my phone mid-way through the text. If I read that I will not end up going out with Tyler. Stuffing my phone in my pillow, I curl up in bed. I hope my sister wouldn't tell on me if she was awake. My mother keeps saying I shouldn't go out at night, oh well.
