Charlie's P.O.V.
Tyler has been distant lately. Cole and Oliver have been eating with us at lunch for a while. Today is the party and Madi is bringing Cat over to my house.
"See you at my place?" I ask, walking toward the door.
"Yeah," Cat waves.
I make my way to my car and get in as the rain begins to drop. Leaning forward, I place my head down on the stirring wheel. Sitting for a few seconds in silence while the rain pores, clears my mind.
There's a knock on the window, making me sit up. I roll it down and look up to Cole's figure.
"You okay?" He asks.
I sigh, "Yeah, just fine."
"Okay..." He says.
"Thank you." I say, turning my car on.
"For what?" He asks.
"For checking." I smile.
He shrugs, "What are friends for?"
Friends.
It doesn't sit right between us.
"You want a ride?" I ask.
"Sure." He walks around and gets in next to me.
We drive in silence until Cole speaks.
"How come I've never seen your dad?" He asks.
Dad. That's a word I haven't heard in a while.
"I trust you." I admit.
He smiles, "Okay."
"My father can go to hell for all I care." I say, "He's always drunk and took all of our money when he left." I explain, continuing, "He comes back every once in a while to grab more money, we can't do much about it."
"Oh, I'm sorry." He sighs.
I shrug, "It doesn't bother me, less bruises are better." I mumble.
"What?" He asks, shifting.
I shake my head, "It doesn't matter."
"Your dad hits you?" He asks.
I gulp, keeping my eyes on the road, Taking a glance at him, he sits with an angry face.
"I'm sorry for telling you that." I say.
"Why?" he asks, "It not like it's your fault."
"Here you are." I drop him off.
"Thank you." He says.
"For what?" I ask, smiling.
"For trusting me." He shrugs and closes the door.
When I get home, my sister sits with other girls. They look at me with disgusted faces so I flip them off.
"What would mom say about that!?" Chloe yells.
I march up the stairs, "Already done the worse!"
Little did she know, I have the whole night planned. I told everyone to wear white to the party, but Chloe doesn't know it was me, who suggested it. She's going to dress up in an expensive, white dress and everyone has color filled water balloons. Except her. When the bell rings, we all start throwing. Me, Madi, and Cat changed our outfits to a simple white t-shirt and shorts. Let the games begin.
