"Steve's crying in his room," Tony tells me. I put down my phone as Fury and Clint start to have a severe emoji war.
"Not my problem, Anthony. Why don't you go comfort him?"
"You're the one who said you hated him!"
"He broke my heart!"
"How?" Tony asks, suddenly speaking softly. He sits down and I spill the beans about the story. He listens quietly then when I finish, he scowls. "I'm going to murder him!"
"Stark!" I yell but he's already running off. I follow and Natasha runs after me, sensing something is wrong. Well, duh, because I'm chasing Tony who is yelling Capsicle through the tower. We reach Steve's room and he looks up at me with those big blue puppy eyes.
Aw.
No. Stay focused, Ellie. "Steve," I say coldly. He nods at me then stands up. Tony punches him. "Stark!" I shout.
Steve doesn't even fall down, he just wobbles then checks his nose for blood. There is none. Tony glares at him. "That's for not saying I love you back to my niece-to-be!"
"Shitting hell, Tony," I say. Natasha grins at me. "Bet you wish you hadn't said anything now," she nudges me and I glare at her.
"But I do love Ellie!" Steve says.
"Um...excuse me?" I feel my face burning and my heart racing as he smiles at me.
"I love you, Ellie Potts," he steps closer and kisses me gently. "When I thought you hated me, when you said you did in that group chat, it hurt. A lot. Then I realised I love you."
I smile. Then my phone beeps and I check up on the group chat.
