JASMINE NERVOUSLY FOLLOWED DRACO through the castle, he was taking her up to the towers and to be honest she was more confused than she was nervous. Her heart was beating so fast and hard that she was sure Draco must've been able to hear it.
He led her to the old astronomy tower, and began walking up the steps, she hadn't been up here before, astronomy lessons were now somewhere else so there was no longer any need for the tower, it just sort of became a tower that people knew of but never went up there.
They got to the top of the stairs and Draco walked towards the edge of the tower, looking out at the black lake. Jasmine joined him, taking in a sharp gasp of air as she saw the view in front of her.
"its beautiful" Jasmine thought aloud as she watched birds flying over the lake. "how did you come to find this?" Jasmine then asked, diverting her gaze to look at him.
"I needed a place to think, Potter had pissed me off one day and I was just walking around the castle and came across it" Draco glanced at the girl, her hair was blowing behind her, trailing down her back. There was no denying that he thought she was beautiful, he always had done. This year however, she was really starting to grow into herself a lot more.
"why did you show me?"Jasmine asked, still confused as to why he had shown her his special place.
"I don't know, I guess I just thought that you could probably use a place to think sometimes too" Draco replied, she was shocked at how nice he was being to her. She always felt like he was nice to her but only because of Theo, but this felt different.
"What gave you that idea?" Jasmine nervously laughed, all of her brothers friends knew that Jasmine was terrified of what was to come, it wasn't a secret.
"oh come on, Jas. I know you're terrified of what's going to happen, now that everyones saying You-Know-Who is back. No matter how hard the ministry try to hide it" Draco replied, moving so that he was facing her. Jasmine paused, he was very right. She didn't quite realise how obvious she had made it that she was scared.
"thank you for showing me" Jasmine said softly, moving so she was facing him.
"you're welcome" Draco said softly, moving his hand he tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
Jasmine found herself lost in his eyes, they looked just like a glacier, so beautiful. He also found himself lost in her beauty, her eyes were deep blue and looked like ocean waves.
"what's your favourite colour?" Draco asked her as they turned their attentions back to the black lake. Jasmine was shocked at his question, they had never really asked each other questions like that, or even really spoken about such small things as a friendship group.
"Probably yellow, you?" Jasmine asked after a moment of thinking.
"red. But don't let any Gryffindor's know that." He retorted, Jasmine rolling her eyes. "what do you want to do when we leave Hogwarts?" Jasmine then asked him, figuring if they were asking questions about one another, she might as well make the most of it.
"I have no idea, maybe something to do with the ministry" Draco told her, with a shrug of his shoulders. "what about you?" He asked her, leaning against the railing.
"A healer, for sure" Jasmine told the boy honestly. "you'd be a good healer I think" Draco replied, his lips twitching upwards ever so slightly.
"Thank you" Jasmine blushed at his compliment, "what's your favourite food?" Draco then asked her and she really had to think for a moment, "Toast" Jasmine spoke, after a few seconds.
"toast?" Draco turned to her, with an eyebrow raised. Jasmine nodded, causing Draco to shake his head and chuckle. "you're an odd one, you know that, Nott?" Draco asked her, causing her to giggle.
She giggled. Jasmine didn't even realise she knew how to giggle.
"what's your favourite sweet?"
"Chocolate frogs, what's your biggest fear?" Draco then asked, turning the question to her.
"Losing those I love the most..." Jasmine paused for a second.
"Oh, and thunderstorms, they terrify me"
They stayed up in the astronomy tower for a while, enjoying each others company before they had decided it would probably be best if they went down to their common rooms. It wasn't awkward though. It was nice.
Draco walked her back to the Hufflepuff common room and they said their goodbyes. Jasmine was sure she had a blush on her cheeks the entire time she was with Draco. It was embarrassing for her really.
As she walked into her common room, she noticed that none of her friends were in there. In hopes that the girls would be in their dormitory she headed through their bedroom door where she Hannah sat on her bed.
"hey, where have you been?" Hannah asked, having been back from Transfiguration for a while.
"I've been with Draco" Jasmine said softly, moving to sit on her bed, Loki meowing in delight at the sight of her witch.
"You what? where did you go?" Hannah asked, moving so she was facing the girl who was paying her cat attention.
"we talked for a while, it was nice" Jasmine said, not really wanting to give their location away, she wanted it to stay between the two of them.
"please stop denying that he likes you, Jas, even your brother can see it" Hannah said softly, she could see how scared Jasmine was of it.
"He hasn't told me he likes me, and until he has, I won't act upon it" Jasmine replied, "I really don't see what you see, Han" Jasmine said softly, scratching the backs of Lokis ears.
"what are you so afraid of?" Hannah asked, moving so she was sat next to the girl. "My father will choose someone for me to be with for the rest of my life, so what's the point in getting close to anyone" Jasmine said softly as Hannah wrapped an arm around her pulling her in so Jasmine could rest her head on her shoulder.
Hannah was lucky in that sense, yes she was a pureblood, but her family didn't care for arranging marriages, however, if Hannah were to marry someone who wasn't pureblooded, then she would be known as a blood traitor.
Jasmine really couldn't see why everyone thought that Draco liked her, they sat together in potions because they had to, and he was friends with her brother and like he had told her, they were friends. Sure they had been spending more time together this year than they had done in previous years but she didn't think he liked her.
It didn't matter anyway, because even if he did like her, it wouldn't be long until her father would be choosing a husband for her, so a relationship wouldn't last.
The pair stayed in their dormitory for a while, just chatting and doing homework. Jasmine had finally finished her herbology essay when Susan and Megan came back to the dormitory asking if the two girls were ready to go down to the great hall for dinner.
Of course the two obliged and made their way to the great hall, as per usual, sitting in their usual seats. Dracos eyes quickly found the Hufflepuff, she was laughing at something Hannah had said, her laugh was contagious, it was beautiful really.
As he sat there quite obviously staring at the girl, Blaise nudged him with his elbow, "Just tell her how you feel, mate" Draco shook his head.
"I don't know what you're talking about" He denied, yet his eyes never left Jasmine.
"you're in denial" Blaise rolled his eyes at the boy.
They were both as bad as one another at this point.
