CHRISTMAS DAY HAD BEEN AND GONE, Draco and Jasmine spent some time together on Christmas Day as per their parents' request. Jasmine had enjoyed spending Christmas with the two families considering the year before they had stayed at school for the Yule Ball.
Jasmine was realising now just how deep her feelings were for Draco, it seemed the more time they spent together the more she would ache to be in his presence.
Draco was feeling the same way about Jasmine, he hadn't felt like this about a girl before. Sure he'd had his fair share of flings, but nothing serious, no matter how hard Pansy Parkinson liked to think they were. Draco had even owl'd Jasmine once she had gotten back to the Nott mansion and it was quite sweet really. She was in so deep, it was eating away at her.
The train back to Hogwarts was fairly uneventful, half of the journey she spent with her brother and then half with Hannah and her friends. She greeted them all with hugs, trying to hide her engagement ring, but still kept it on. This wasn't something she wanted to explain to Ernie or Justin, they wouldn't understand. She needed to wait until she was alone with the girls.
Once they had arrived back at their common room, they went back to their dormitories to unpack. Loki immediately curled up on top of Jasmines pillow.
Jasmine was folding up a jumper when she heard Megan gasp. Jasmine's eyes snapped up to meet Megans, who's eyes were trained on the ring on Jasmine's finger.
"what the fuck is that?" Megan asked, rushing over to Jasmines bed, as did Hannah and Susan.
"u-um well its an engagement ring" Jasmine stuttered out as Hannah grabbed her hand to examine the ring.
"WHAT?!" Susan practically shouted in shock, moving to be beside Hannah so she could see the ring.
"You couldn't have put any of this in a letter?!" Hannah asked, clearly not happy with her best friend. "I thought it would be best to tell you guys in person. I don't really want the entire school knowing just yet." Jasmine reasoned, watching Hannah's eyes soften at her reasoning.
"well? are you going to tell us to whom you are engaged?" Susan screeched at the girl, also staring at the ring. "Draco Malfoy" Jasmine spoke softly, staring down at the ring.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP" Megan squealed again, Megan's language was always flowery.
"no-no its not like that" Jasmine stuttered, shaking her head. "well what else can it be like, you're getting married" Susan looked to her in confusion. Megan and Susan weren't pureblooded, so they weren't to know that the majority of marriages in pureblooded communities were arranged.
"our parents arranged it. Draco didn't propose as such" Jasmine explained, causing Megan and Susan's eyes to open wide.
"I had a feeling it would be Draco for you Jas" Hannah smirked, hoping that their engagement would give them the kick they needed.
