JASMINE AND DRACO STOOD HUGGING for a few minutes before she pulled away from him slowly, "I guess we should pick a ring" Jasmine almost laughed, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

Jasmine and Draco opened up the jewellery box once again and took a look at all of the rings. They were all beautiful, but many were very flashy, too flashy for Jasmine.

The one that caught her eye was a beautiful, dainty emerald ring, with small diamonds encrusted in the band. It was stunning.

Jasmine picked it up out of the box and looked at it more closely. "its beautiful" Jasmine breathed out, "do you want to try it on?" Draco asked, he was stood very close to her. Jasmine nodded and he took the ring from her hands, taking her left hand in his. She bit her lip as he slid the ring onto her finger, it fit perfectly. Almost as if it was meant to be for her.

"Slytherins colours" Draco chuckled a little, whilst looking at the ring on Jasmine's finger.

Jasmine smiled softly at Draco'a statement. "I just wanted to let you know, that just because we're engaged, it doesn't mean anything has to change between us." Draco told her, squeezing her hand a little, Jasmine nodded at him, she was sure he wouldn't force her into anything she wasn't comfortable with.

"you look beautiful, by the way" Draco told her, her cheeks flushing pink. "thank you, Draco" She smiled softly at the beautiful boy in front of her. She could tell he was also terrified of what was to come.

"we should probably go downstairs, I'm sure they'll be wondering what's taking so long" Jasmine said, and Draco nodded, opening the door for her to step out first.

The pair walked down the stairs and back into the Malfoy living room. Narcissa beamed in delight when she saw the glimmer of a ring on Jasmine's finger.

"show me which one you chose!" She excitedly said, not noticing how timidly she and Draco had walked into the room, hoping not to gain attention. Jasmine walked over to the woman and held out her hand for Narcissa to see.

"this was my mothers, such a beautiful ring, a very good choice, the both of you" Narcissa smiled, looking from Draco to Jasmine.

They remained in the living room for quite a while, mainly wedding details being spoken about, it wasn't going to be for over a year so Jasmine wasn't quite sure why they were planning it already.

"Thank you all for a lovely evening, but I believe it's time we got home. We will see you on Christmas Eve, where we shall announce the engagement" Jasmines father smiled at the family, gesturing for Jasmine and Theo to say their goodbyes.

And so they did, Draco made the first move and pulled Jasmine in to hug him. Theo was very shocked at the affection his best friend was showing his sister, but assumed it was to please their parents. Jasmine was also shocked, but let it slide, also in assumption it was to please their parents.

Little did she know that his hug was all for reassurance. He knew she might head home and cry and almost couldn't bare the thought of it.

Draco and Theo did their whole friendly handshake thing whilst Narcissa and Lucius said their goodbyes to Jasmine.

She really liked the Malfoy's, having known them since she and Theo were still in nappies.

Contrary to the rest of the world, she didn't believe they were bad people, just misguided. Lucius was pretty ruthless, but Narcissa only did what her husband asked of her.

Jasmine and Theo linked arms, and placed their hands on their fathers arm so they could disapparate back to the Nott Mansion.

Once again Jasmine was filled with feeling sick and stumbled as they got home.

Once inside the mansion, Jasmine went straight upstairs to her bedroom, slipping her heals off immediately. She shut her bedroom door and immediately stripped from her dress, putting on an old t shirt and shorts to sleep in, it was very muggle of her but it was comfy.

As she was fully dressed again, she heard a knock on her bedroom door, Lokis ears perking up at the sound of someone wanting to come into her room.

She was tired, exhausted actually. She had wanted nothing more than to be asleep right now, but part of her knew that sleep wouldn't come easily.

"come in" Jasmine said softly as she sat crosslegged in her bed, her legs under her duvet, Loki moving to be sat in her lap.

Her door opened, revealing Theo. Theo walked in, and sat at the end of her bed.

"some night, huh?" Theo asked with a small chuckle. Jasmine smiled and nodded.

"How do you feel about it?" Theo questioned, his face laced with worry. "fine I guess, I always knew it was coming. I guess I'd rather it be Draco than any random man" Jasmine reasoned, shrugging her shoulders. To be fair she had a while to contemplate the idea after Draco told her.

"He really likes you, you know that?" Theo said, scratching the top of Lokis head.

"Everyone keeps saying this, but I genuinely haven't got a clue what you're talking about" Jasmine shrugged again, she really didn't think he liked her like that.

"You're blind Jas, you both are. Everyone can see how much you like each other. He watches you all the time, he's always first to jump to your defence behind me, he cares about you, and you care about him. You're just too stubborn to admit it." Theo rolled his eyes.

"I'm hoping that now you're engaged it might push the two of you to finally act on your feelings" Theo added as Jasmine looked down at the ring on her left hand.

"how are you so okay with this?" Jasmine asked, confused at why Theo actually wanted his sister and best friend together.

"Because I see the way he looks at you, and I see the way you look at him. Draco is much happier around you than he is around anyone else, you might not notice it but we do. Even Greengrass mentioned it" Theo said with a scoff. Of course he didn't quite like the idea of his best friend and little sister together, but he would rather it be Draco than any one else.

"you must know that dad is probably lining someone up for you too" Jasmine replied, trying to change the subject slightly, feeling uncomfortable.

"My money is on Greengrass" Theo shrugged, clearly not that bothered by it. "I've noticed their owl come into the house a few times, so I just assumed" Theo explained, Jasmine nodded in response.

"well, Daphne is very pretty" Jasmine replied, smiling at the thought of her friend and brother together.

"Yeah I guess she is" Theo said, standing up and walking towards the door.

"Sleep well, Jas. Love you" He told her, opening the door so he could walk out.

"Sleep well, love you too" She told her brother as he shut her bedroom door.

She switched off her bedroom light and cuddled into Loki who purred in happiness and relaxation.

Jasmine tried so very hard to fall asleep straight away, but a certain pair of grey eyes kept cropping into her mind, straying her further away from sleep.
