•TWENTY TWO•JASMINE WALKED WITH HER FRIENDS DOWN TO THE DUNGEONS, and was about to turn a corner in order to go inside her common room when an arm grabbed her and pulled her round a different corner and up against a wall.
Jasmine was about to scream when a hand went over her mouth to stop her from making any noise. She finally looked up and saw Draco, she sighed in relief when she saw his face. She pulled his hand away from her mouth and scowled at him.
"what are you doing? you scared me" Jasmine whisper shouted at him, "sorry, I just wanted to see you" Draco said and Jasmines gaze softened.
"what is this Draco?" Jasmine sighed, she loved being around him, hell, she was engaged to him, but they had never solidified what their relationship was. They went from never having kissed, to kissing a lot all of a sudden and acting pretty much like a couple but he'd never once said what this was.
"well, you're my fiancé" Draco frowned, he didn't understand what she meant. "yes but, you didn't choose me. But we act like we're a couple, but you haven't said we are, I'm just confused at what you want from me. I'm here for you Draco always have been and always will be" Jasmine said as she fiddled with her engagement ring.
"well, I tell people you're my fiancé, but I want you to be my girlfriend more than I want you to be my forced fiancé" Draco said, taking her hand in his.
"I wasn't forced, Draco. I went into this willingly-wait did you just ask me to be your girlfriend?" Jasmine asked, a smile creeping onto her lips.
"yeah I did" Draco's lips twitched up into a smile.
Jasmine beamed at the boy stood in front of her. "Yes I'll be your girlfriend, and your willing fiancé" She smiled, looking up at the beautiful boy in front of her.
"I'm sorry about earlier on the train" Draco said softly, moving his hands so they were resting on her hips.
"its okay, I just wish you'd let me in. I want to help you" Jasmine said, placing her hands on his chest. "I promise I'll start telling you more" Draco said and Jasmine smiled at him.
"Thats all I need" she grinned up at him. That was all it took for him to smash his lips on top of hers.
Needless to say, she slept with a smile on her face that night.
The next morning, Jasmine made her way to advanced potions with Professor Slughorn, she spotted Draco and Blaise in the class and moved to be standing next to them.
"Hey" Blaise said to Jasmine as she walked over, "hey" Jasmine replied as Draco put his arm over her shoulder, her leaning into him just before Slughorn began speaking.
"Good morning everyone! welcome to advanced potions. Attention to detail will get you far in my classroom-" Slughorn began speaking but was cut off when Harry Potter and Ron Weasley walked in the room. She felt Draco stiffen behind her at the sight of his enemy since first year.
"Harry my boy! I was beginning to worry! And I see we've brought someone with us..." Slughorn said, not knowing Rons name.
"Ron Weasley, sir. But I'm dead awful at potions, a menace actually, so I probably should just be going-" Jasmine watched on at the situation cringing as Ron tried to get out of the lesson.
"Nonsense, we'll sort you out. Any friend of Harry's is a friend of mine. Right then, books out" Slughorn said, Jasmine reached down into her bag when she heard Harry speak yet again.
"Um, sorry sir, but I haven't got my book, nor's Ron, you see-" He began to speak when Slughorn cut him off.
"not to worry, you can get what you need from the cupboard" Slughorn said and the two moved to the cupboard, everyone turning their attention back to Slughorn.
"Now, as I was saying, I've prepared a few concoctions this morning. Any ideas what these might be?" Jasmine knew exactly what they were but she hated speaking up in class, and so she let Hermione answer.
"yes, miss...?" Slughorn asked, "Granger, sir. That one there is veritaserum. And that would be the polyjuice potion, and that, is Amortentia! the most powerful love potion in the world" Hermione began.
"It's rumoured to smell differently to each person, according to what attracts them. For example, I smell freshly mown grass and new parchment and spearmint toothpaste." Hermione finishes in embarrassment.
Jasmine was confused, she could only smell Draco. His cologne was very strong today. It was lightly musky and always smelt like apples. Without a doubt Draco always had an apple on him, it was almost weird and definitely would be if Jasmine didn't like the smell of them so much.
She brushed it off as she wasn't close enough to the potion to be able to smell anything. But little did she know, Draco was also confused, he could only smell her. Her vanilla and raspberry body wash and shampoo, along with her perfume that smelt like cherry blossom.
"Now Amortentia doesn't create actual love, of course. that would be impossible. it does cause a powerful infatuation or obsession. For that reason, it is probably the most dangerous potion in this room" Slughorn put the lid on top of the cauldron to stop people from dreamily staring at it. Jasmine thought it was quite weird.
"sir, you haven't told us what's in that one" A Gryffindor girl, Katie Bell spoke up, "Ah yes, what you see before you, ladies and gentlemen, is a curious little potion known as Felix Felicis. But it is more commonly referred to as -" Slughorn was cut off by Hermione, "Liquid luck" Jasmine liked her she really did, but why did she always do that.
She watched as everyone perked up, including Draco at the mention of the potion.
"yes Miss Granger. Desperately tricky to make. Disastrous should you get it wrong. But brewed correctly as this has been, it has remarkable powers. One sip and you will find that all of your endeavours succeed... at least until the effects wear off." Slughorn laughed.
Why did Draco need liquid luck?
"So, this is what I offer each of you today. One tiny vial of liquid luck.. to the student who in the hour that remains, manages to brew an acceptable draught of living death, the recipe for which can be found on page ten of your text book" Slughorn smiled as he watched all the students find the recipe in their text books.
"You should know that in all the years of my previous tenure at Hogwarts, not once did a student brew a potion of sufficient quality to claim this prize. In any event- goodluck" Slughorn told them all as they began to go to work.
Jasmine stood with Draco, Blaise, Crabbe and Goyle as they began to attempt making the potion. Seamus blew his up, Goyles melted his spoon, Hermione was practically ripping her hair out. This potion was sending people mad
Jasmine was doing fairly well, and managed to brew the potion just fine, but Harry Potter beat her to it. Slughorn took one look at Harrys and grinned.
"Merlin's beard! I daresay one drop would kill us all" Slughorn smiled and Jasmine huffed. Draco clearly wanted the liquid luck and Jasmine had tried so hard to get it for him.
"Here you are then, as promised. Once bottle of Felix Felicis. Use it well." He gave Harry the potion and dismissed the class.
This was Jasmines only lesson for the day and she was already tired.
As she was walking out of the classroom, Draco pulled on her arm getting her to stop walking. "where are you going now?" He asked and Jasmine shrugged.
"I've got nothing for the rest of the day, so I was going to go back to my common room, why? did you want to go up to the astronomy tower?" Jasmine asked and Draco shook his head no.
"No that's okay, I'll see you after dinner" Draco told her and pressed his lips against hers. Her cheeks went bright pink at the public display of affection. She definitely didn't hate it though. In fact she definitely enjoyed it.
