IT WAS CHRISTMAS EVE, JASMINE AND THEO had spent the day decorating their Christmas tree. Jasmine had convinced her father to let them have a Christmas tree, although they were going to be spending Christmas Day at the Malfoy Manor.

Their father wasn't the festive type, but had always tried to make sure his children were happy, more specifically Jasmine. He knew how different his daughter was from Theo and wanted nothing more than for her to be safe and looked after.

This was where he massively differed from Lucius. Whilst he had always held a cold and hard exterior, that melted for Jasmine, or at least it used to. She reminded him so much of his late wife that he couldn't bare to shut her out like he did everyone else. He used to be the same for Theo, except now Theo was much more grown up and didn't crave a fathers love like Jasmine did, he only craved his approval and so their father found it easier to shun Theo.

Christmas with the Malfoy's wasn't unusual. They had spent many christmases with the family, considering their families were both small and how close the children were it seemed right for them to be together.

Their father had been at a meeting all day and so left the twins to their own devices with the Christmas tree. Christmas was Jasmines favourite holiday by far. The lights were so pretty and just made everything so cozy, Jasmine thought it was a nice change compared to the darkness of the mansion usually.

The twins were just adding their finishing touches when they stepped back to look at the tree.

"I love it" Jasmine said, grinning up at her big brother who she had practically had to beg to help her decorate it, along with the house elves who did so willingly.

"yeah it is pretty good to be fair" Theo responded, giving his sister a smile. She was always his priority, if she was happy, then so was he.

The twins went their separate ways in order to begin getting ready for the ball. Jasmine was very nervous. Tonight was the night that they would announce to everyone that she and Draco were engaged. She was quite terrified.

She had showered, using her signature vanilla and raspberry shower gel and washed her hair with the matching shampoo and conditioner. She sat at her dresser in her white robe and just looked at herself in the mirror. Surely tonight would be fine, how could it not be.

She began to ready herself, drying her hair and curling it, styling it so that her curls were flowing to her left side and down her front.

She did her usual minimal makeup but this time added a little bit of blush on her cheeks.

She carefully put the dress on, a house elf zipping it up at the back, she had to be honest, the dress was amazing. She had paired it with black heels and made sure that she had her engagement ring on, not that she'd really taken it off and decided she was ready.
