[Inner's POV]
I'm a bit tired, tomorrow schools are re-opening. I have a crusade to attend tonight. But I'm so excited. It's like it could be resurrection celebration Sunday every Sunday.. Instead it's only celebration Sunday, which is really not different except the sermon title. Sundays are my favorite. There's absolutely no doubt about that. However, my mom says I shouldn't go because I have school tomorrow and besides, I was there on Friday.
Like.. Please! I'd rather live on church premises than anywhere else and she knows that. I was made to worship at all times. Convenient or not. But either way, I'm going. My friend will be there too and besides she'll be serving, on Friday I missed out a little. I was busy making coffee, ushering people and all that. I must say, walking in Stilettos on a ground not level at all is no kiddies play.
Tonight I get to wear my flats and dance my heart out too. Honestly I love heels and all that, but at the park, they're my last option, really. I prepare myself for tonight as it's almost four o'clock (16:00). I'm not gonna ask my parents to accompany me because mom already disapproves, so I'll just pick up people along the way or walk there by myself. I was born alone, raised alone and still the only child, what could be so hard about walking alone?
With those thoughts and preparations, I'm done. I bid good bye to my parents and head out the door. I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back. It's also been quite a while since the break-up and ignorance between Tee and I, but what's there to talk about? Nothing. I walk the 55 minute to an hours' walk and eventually arrive. There's only an hour left for preparations as it's now half past six (18:30). Tonight I can help freely and a lot more. I'm so excited. And I'm known for my squeals, yeah. That I'm guilty of.
We set up, get ourselves ready and wait for the action. I really want to assist tonight but I've been told I'm off duty and I should relax, after all I chose to join the choir. So I guess I'll chill. As the movie starts, we're all seated, later on I decide to stand a little at the back next to Ps Chris. I know, I know. I basically stand there frozen like I've been forced to move over there but then again, it's my choice. Soon, I find out it was a very bad choice I ever took.
I see Reign heading our way. He seems to somehow have managed to play the whole thing without interruptions. He stands between me and Ps Chris. He speaks to him but calls him an unfamiliar name, I just shrug it off. It's none of my business anyways. I pay my attention back to the screen. I just can't help but be in love with the character of Jesus, not that I find the guy hot or anything (well he's acting the Jesus part, even if he were hot, I wouldn't have noticed because it would be like having hots for Jesus, y'know) but I'm in love with how humble He was.
In some situations or circumstances I know for sure that I would have flipped, but He's not me, so let's leave it at that. "Hey, do you know what's the Holy Spirit?" suddenly a male voice says to me, breaking my concentration from the movie. I must've been so focused on the movie not to even hear Ps Chris' phone ringing and him excusing himself from us.
I look to the side where the voice is coming from and to my dismay it's none other than Reign. I roll my eyes at him but internally, I'm a natural disaster waiting to happen. My heart beats five fold in a second, my body heat has shot up, I'm holding my breath, I'm suppressing a blush, I feel insulted, I'm mad. Gosh! I'm so bipolar right now. But I gather the courage to speak to him.
Me: "Ahem. Yeah, who doesn't?" What the h.. Who does he think he is insulting my intelligence like that. I mean I'm a church goer, I dress formally to church, what about him? He looks like a combination of Pharrell, Chris Breezy, and August (yeah, he's definitely that hot) comes with his swag to church and dares ask me that question? Oh no.. He didn't. I debate internally.
Him: "Okay Princess. Care to tell me what's the Holy Spirit?" OhhMyGawshh😮☺️ he just called me Princess. Lord, what is he doing to me? Excuse my blushing guys.
Me: I smirk. "Well the Holy Spirit is the Spirit that is Holy. Simple as that. Happy?" I reply cheekily folding my arms.
Him: He Chuckles lightly then shakes his head sideways. "Well true. I wasn't asking you to change the word format from svo to ovs but either way. Try again." He says with a grin on his face. The nerve!
Me: I look at him dumbfounded and straight up mad. The nerve of this guy. "Well.. It's a spirit from God. It's Holy. It descends from heaven." I reply somewhat less confident now and annoyed.
Him: He gives me that hideous laugh of his before responding. "You're quite right. See, The Holy Spirit is not a white dove. In the movie, it takes the form of a dove, hence it descends from heaven. But actually, it's God's gift to us. It fulfills the Holy Trinity. It's an all consuming fire, consumes but never burns. Take Moses' encounter for example, the Bush was burning but never consumed. In us, the Holy Spirit consumes all our blemishes and the bad in us or around us, but it does not burn which is harm us. See?" he says with a brow up.
Me: 😳😐 These emos better explain my state of emotions. "Uhh.. Ahem. Y-yeah. O-okay." I was beyond shook and embarrassed. Yet here was I, criticising this guy for being late at church and how he looks like a heathen. Where, myself the "perfect holy Christian" can't even properly explain what or who the Holy Spirit is. OhhMyGod🤦🏼. Can this night end already?
Him: "Yeah. So Jesus is the Anointed Messiah with Whom God is pleased. Not that the Holy Spirit is a white dove. This symbolizes the relationship God has with His son. Were you aware that God has no grandchildren?" he asks politely. Can someone abduct this guy? Like for real?
Me: "Yeah, I know. But the question is.. If Jesus is God's own son and we are His disciples, then how come are we not His grandchildren?" I know with God there aren't grandchildren and great grandchildren but the fact that we're so many, we can't all really be God's direct children so how are all His? I ask myself.
Him: "Well see, the Earth and everything on it belongs to God. We also belong to Him. We all come from Him. Just because He assigned and anointed parents over us, doesn't make Him our grand or great grandfather.. He's all our Father. Hence the Lord's prayer says: 'Our Father, who art in Heaven.. Which also translates heavenly Father'. He's all our Heavenly Father Princess." Okay!
Me: 🤯😦😳 this guyyy.. I mean W🙆🏼W. "Err.. T-thank you." I say dumbfounded.
Him: "Okay. I'll explain the rest of the movie as it proceeds. Just tell me if I bore you then I'll stop." he says gesturing to the projector.
Me: "Sure thing. I'm listening." this is surely going to be a long night if you ask me.
With those words, his face lit up like a kid seeing Santa and Reindeers with presents on a Christmas day and wasted no time in explaining the rest of the Passion of Christ. Even though it was translated in our native language his explanations helped me a lot. Being in a cinema, front seat with three D glasses was no match to this.. Then All of a sudden as if a switch is flipped on.. I realized something.. He's just like the one I've been praying for.
