[Inner's POV]

Today's Saturday. Still the first week of May. We're having a courtship versus dating what you call. (Feel free to call it what you like: seminar, meeting, event etc🙈). So we're basically here as the youth, to learn about courtship and dating. The similarities and differences. How we introduce our partners to our parents and all that hip-hop. I'm so excited to be here. Honestly, who isn't.. So now. Here we're preparing, by that I mean setting cookies and coffee on the tables for people to indulge their taste budds in.

We've already sat ourselves down. Obviously waiting for the Pastor to take the stand and engage with us. Well I don't know about others but I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I mean hello.. It's Ps Chris.. And I'm pretty sure everyone is well acquainted with how I feel towards him so yeah. He takes a stand and welcomes us and says prayer because honestly, who are we to talk about future spouses without inviting God? So yup. We do open in prayer.

"Father we welcome You in this place. We ask of You to help us in this meeting not for our will and ways to prevail, but Yours only to be done. Father, Your word is settled in Heaven.. It stands firm. (Psalm 119:89). No one and nothing is above Your word Father. We honor You in this place. Come and move in our hearts. In the Mighty Name of Jesus we pray and the family said: amen." There was a chorus of amen for all of us in attendance. Then Ps Chris began to speak to us.

"Family.. We're all here today looking for a spouse. Not running after one but seeking the ways of the Lord even in relationships. The shape of the cross' meaning is two fold. The vertical part symbolizes reconciliation with the Father. The horizontal part symbolizes reconciliation with man." He says as we all seemed to be very interested in what he had to say.

"Today, all of you can feel free and ask questions. It's a talks session, Q and A session. We're all participating so as to get better views on what is expected of us or rather how we should conduct ourselves." Hmm.. Happy and I say. "This is not a behavior modification programme or session but a talk session as I've already said." Ps Chris continues.

"We're not just here to talk about relationships, intimacy, Soulmates and ties, but we need guidance from the word of God." At the mention of all the headings, the room was filled with gasps and gapes from us. I can only imagine how I looked cause I know for sure Happiness' mouth was wide open. A fly would've easily made three trips in and out of her mouth.

"First of all.." Ps Chris begins speaking after we all recovered from our shock. "We have to differentiate between courtship and dating. The former is God's way of what we call dating. He has purposed for us to love one another yes. But in brotherly and sisterly love so we could always have respect for one another." He says and we nod.

"Let's all look at Romans 12:10 for instance. (Romans 12:10 Love one another with brotherly affection as members of one family, giving precedence and showing honor to one another.) It is very clear that we ought to "Court" as couples. God's idea of Courting has an ultimate goal of marriage." Okay. It's about to go down.. I say to myself.

"On the other hand, dating is a word derived or take from mating. Of which, mating is for animals or largely applied in animal cases. This is where two animals would come together and have a baby of it's kind.. This concept we don't use or follow as Christians because mating doesn't just end there. Male animals mate with female one's, to keep their territory or name superior-." Ps Chris was stopped by our gasps earning him a slight chuckle.

He continues. "Superior in the kingdom. The male just makes sure that female will carry his babies so he will have his bloodline in that territory. This means that, the male is mostly absent in raising the cub and it will again hunt another female to mate with. This process could go on forever. Family, we're not animals. Most certainly daughters of God aren't baby carriers for multiples of males and sons of God aren't baby planters across the planet." he explains.
