[Inner's POV]

It's been two weeks meaning it's mid April since the encounter I had with Reign. We've been chatting here and there on WhatsApp. He works at a retail store but under the insurance policy division. He approves and declines client's requests for credit cards, prepares insurance policies for clients and so forth. I couldn't really care less whether he works or not. All I know is that dang! He knows the Word of God.. Well to me that is.

I'm currently at school now. Academics are, well I don't know. But come year end, I'm going to pass. How.. I dunno. But I'm passing this grade. I didn't spend eleven years of schooling only to fail the last.. Nope. Nah fam. Since people are partnered up in the sponsor-sponsee program, it's only Happiness and I without partners. We aren't exactly a good match since it has to be someone you're not really familiar with so as to build relationships, it has to be one person older the other a few years younger. Yeah, we need to respect each other. Lastly.. It has to be the person of the same gender. I'd take Ps Chris' niece since, apart from Happiness I have no one.

Yeah.. I'm the type that shows you if we're going no where. I don't hang around people who love you in your presence but despise you in your absence. I keep friends close. But I don't keep enemies closer. So I currently have no one and so does Happiness. But I have a pretty good idea whom I'll ask. The long break alarm goes off and I've asked Happiness to speak to her. Well we sit next to each other in class, we eat together, walk to meetings together But she knows what "I need to speak to you" means.

Happy, Namesake, Soulie, Bestie, Twinny are all the names I use to address her.

Happy: "Friend, I can't believe you were talking to that guy two weeks ago. Huh?" She puts that motherly tone to indicate that today, she's not letting the topic slide.
Me: "Ahh.. Come on friend. It wasn't a big deal. Besides.. I was embarrassed. Nothing romantic about it." I shrug drawing circles on the ground with my right foot.
Happy: "Right. If it wasn't you wouldn't have said 'besides'. You can try convince your kids, not me." Darn this girl knows me too well. I'm done.
Me: "Okay.. Okay. I'll spill the beans." I sigh whilst my friend squeals. "First of all, he started by asking-" .. Then she cuts me off.
Happy: "Your name, how are you, how old are you and if you're single?" my friend can't even hold her excitement.

Me: "No friend. We didn't even have the proper introduction. We seem not to be interested in each other. He just asked me to explain the Holy Spirit.. I did, he then gave his version of things.. Then ended up narrating the whole movie to me. The end." I say to my friend not even understanding what I just narrated.
Happy: "Friend.. You are lying. I saw you. Your eyes were glowing, you were blushing and couldn't even hide it. You love him. Am I right?" bestie asks me.
Me: "Right. You are not friend. I don't. I'm still hung up on Tee. We might not work but I can't use another guy as a distraction. Besides, I'm down to four exes now. The person I meet this time has to be my husband. I can't have more than four exes." I tell my friend.
Happy: "I hear you babe. But honestly, Thanksgiven is not what or who you need. He's played you beyond enough. I won't force you to move on but don't get your hopes up hun. And 'besides' I wanna hear more about Reign.. You kept this topic shut for two weeks, why?" she pro es wiggling her eyebrows.

Me: I groan before responding. "Fine! You've got me. I admit that he's hot. I have hots for him. But still wouldn't be his girlfriend. He's too hot for keeps that one. We've been texting via WhatsApp, since last week he calls me everyday after school on my way home, after I make him a please-call-me-back. It's more or less the same as accompanying me from school to home." I say shrugging.
Happy: "Yaayyyyy! Friiiend! 😁👏🏼👏🏼. You've found yourself a man. So when are you going out?" She asks wiggling her eye brows.
Me: "No one is going out with no one. Besides, that's not why I need advice from you." I say blushing profusely and trying to hide it.
Happy: "Okay. I'm listening. But if you're gonna ask me to go out with him.. Then it's a yes." she says.
Me: Rolling eyes. "I'm not going on a date with him. But.. I.. I want to ask him to be my sponsor-sponsee 😬"
Happy: "😳 girrl.. Is the pastor going to allow it? Lucky me the wife is a bit lenient but with you. I dunno. But.. What now?" she asks.
Me: "Well. I'm not sure. But either way. This isn't about who has hots for who and what not. It's about my spiritual well-being and besides, next year I won't be here. I wouldn't waste my time on a nine month relationship. And, my boyfriend and exes count still stands." I tell Happy.
Happy: "Okay friend I hear you. With the way this guy's seems to be wise and all that, it wouldn't be bad to ask him. Just don't let it backfire." she says patting my shoulder.
Me: Bell rings. "Wow.. We spent the whole break talking😂😂. Good Lord, it's Math urgh." I say and get up.

[Thanksgiven's POV]

It's a day before my birthday. And Inner seems to be so happy like she's the one awaiting a birthday soon. She's gained complexion, gained weight and mann she thick. How did I not notice that before? I mean I've know her to be thick but now since the break up, it's like she baths with milk and moisturise herself with chocolate. She looks delicious.

I gotta get her back. But this weekend I want to party myself into a pulp. It's Friday today and my birthday is tomorrow.. Saturday is still the weekend so this weekend is going to be lit. Then maybe next week I'll call her, ask her to meet me and talk. I really love not being committed to one person but I love Inner. She's a wife material. But a bit uptight too. I'm still young, wild and free. She's also too damn mature for her age. But I love her.

I saw her with Happiness today during lunch break. They seemed to be in a very private conversation. Inner was blushing profusely, Happiness on the other hand was clapping, gawking, you name it. Whatever the topic was, it was about boys. And I could tell Inner would be the guy's girlfriend. It broke my heart, honestly. She's not the one to move on so quick. No, she's not.

I better go to town, buy my clothes for this weekend, you only turn nineteen once. I'm a legal being now. I can do whatever and however I please. Bell rings.. Thaaank God it's Friiiidaayyy! My classmates are wild, my friends are wilder and I'm like them.
