"I know ames, my life absolutely sucks "
Dianne told her best friend, Amy's face on the screen of her laptop over facetime.
"Have you met him yet?"
Amy asked
"Yeah and he's lovely and everything, but I'd rather find love by myself you know. Fall in love the normal way and not be forced into marrying this boy"
Dianne complained
"But if he's lovely and he's nice ,what's the problem?"
She said
"The whole getting married thing. I'm literally a teenager, I'm 17 and in a weeks time in going to be married to this joe bloke from the uk. I'll go from a normal teenager to a married woman whose gonna be doing all this cooking and cleaning malarkey. I guess I'm just scared to become someones wife "
Dianne told amy
"Yeah I get that. When are you seeing him next? Is it the wedding day?"
Amy asked
"Luckily not. Hes actually coming round for dinner tonight. Mum and dad are going to get the chef to cook a really fancy meal. You know with this house they have brought fir me and joe,it has a butler and everything. Like I know were young, but I'd rather have my own space to get to know him and doing stuff like cooking and cleaning, kind if would be a time to bond if you get what I mean. "
"Of course di, you know I just can't believe your parents are doing this"
Amy said.
"I know it's so bad isn't it. It's like being forced into something. Well it is ,I'm being forced into marrying Joe"
When diannes parents ,mark and Rina told her only 24 days ago she would be getting married in around a months time dianne was shocked. The last thing she expected them to say. She met her from a few days later. His name was joe and like disnne he was 17 too. He had moved from England to Australia when he was just 4 years old when his parents split up.
"Look di, he's being forced into it too. You know I'm not the best st advice ,but tonight when he comes round for dinner, I just think you should somehow pull him away from your parents and take him somewhere quiet and just talk about what you both think about this. I bet hes just as scared as you dianne. Just talk about what you want from eachother, I guess. "
Amy suggested
"Its a good idea ames, but I'm just scared of being in a relationship again. You know what happened last time in was in one, I got beat up in the school playground "
Dianne said
"Well that's why you should talk to him. Tell joe what your scared about, you know he might have the same fears as you going into this "
Amy told her
"You know your right amy. Thank you for helping me through this, you know how nervous I am. Anyway mums calling me,got to go see you at the wedding. Actually it will be the night before won't it"
"Yeah night before babes, I'll let you go. Speak to you soon darlin' "
Amy smiled
"Bye ames"
Dianne waved closing down her laptop and getting of her bed. She walked down the stairs to go and find her mum. She probably wants to talk about tonight when joe came round or how her mum and dad said his name, Joseph.
All dianne wanted was to tell her mum and dad how scared she was to get married. It wasn't the wedding she was particularly worried about it was after the wedding when they went into a world of married life together and had to live together. They'd have to overcome challenges together every day whilst still getting to know one another. She was scared to take those steps. What if he was ready to do something she didn't want to do,or wasn't ready for yet? What if he pressured her into something she didn't want to do? What if they got into arguments and after a whole figured out they totally didn't get along at all.
