I know this is quite similar to the last chapter. I had a really long good chapter ready to go out and it got deleted. It was around 3000 words and it took 7 hours to write. I dont want to write it again so I have this one instead. It's not that good and its similar to the last one, but I'm running out of ideas 😂
It was early in the morning, roughly around 7am but the sun was already up in London. It was warm, already in the high twenties and it was predicated to be one of the hottest days of the year. The year being 2021.
Mark and Rina had been staying with joe and dianne for a few days. Now every year they visited joe and dianne in England in the summer time, this was their 3rd year doing so, and then joe and dianne would go over to Australia at Christmas or new years as last year they spent it with Joe's family.
Joe walked downstairs and into the kitchen and took the empty cup of diannes coffee she had the night before into the sink ready to wash up later. He saw a figure sat on the terrace outside, it was mark, diannes dad. He was obviously enjoying the English weather, so joe decided to grab himself a coffee to start the day and go outside to enjoy the sun with mark.
"Morning mark, sleep well?"
Joe asked his girlfriends dad
"Morning joe, I slept very well. But it was very hot, however you can't help it. This english weather is amazing st the moment"
Mark told him
"Yeah this weather is lovely. Already got yourself a coffee I see"
Joe said as he noticed mark was also enjoying a coffee like himself
"Yeah I did, I hope you don't mind, I used your coffee machine "
Mark said
"Of course I don't mind however dianne might have to steal it off you when she wakes up. Your using her favourite mug"
joe chuckled
"I think I'll be done before she gets up, hopefully. And if not I guess I'm in trouble with her "
Mark joked causing joe to laugh
"She gets so angry over those little things. I dread to imagine what she was like as a kid "
Joe said
"She was exactly like that when she was younger and it was so annoying. Got angry over little things. But I guess that's just how she is as a person "
Mark added
"Yeah that's how she is and sometimes it does get on my bloody nerves. I hope our children don't get that trait of her"
Joe laughed
"I hope they don't get it too joe. They're even worse when they're younger "
Mark told him
"I bet. Anyway, whilst were on this kind of topic ,can I ask you a question?"
Joe asked obviously. He didnt know if this was a question he should keep to himself and not ask. He didn't know how to ask. And was nervous to ask anyone but he needed to say something otherwise he would worry.
"Of course joe, go ahead"
Mark smiled
"What's it like being a dad?"
He asked him
Mark smiled at joe again. He didnr know what it was that made him happy about it. Maybe the thought of having another grandchild, or maybe that he definitely 100% knew his daughter had someone who wanted what she wanted .
"Well it's pretty indescribable. Its nearly impossible to say how it feels because its just a dream a come true pretty much. Why you ask?"
Mark said and joe took a deep breath.
"Diannes been talking about taking that next step alot recently but I just don't know. I guess I'm scared to have that responsibility of having a child to look after"
Joe confessed to mark. Inside mark was just so happy that joe one trusted him to talk about something like this and two that it was something dianne wanted sooner than he thought.
"Its not as scary as you think. When rina was pregnant with Brendan I was terrified to be a dad for the first time but as soon as he was born I realised there was no reason to be scared. I didnt panic not once when we had andrew or dianne because I knew from our experience with Brendan it was ok. Every guy is scared to be a dad."
Mark told joe
"Do you think I should go for it then? Tell her I'm ready "
Joe nervously said
"Well....that's up to you joe. If you feel your ready then you should, but if your not theres no need to worry or panic about it. I'm sure dianne wouldn't want to force you into something like that if you didn't want to. "
He adviced the younger guy
"Ok.....thank you mark "
Joe smiled
"No worries mate. You know it's nice to have you come and talk to me like this. I know you trust me and it's also very nice to know that you and dianne are going to start your own family soon. And dont worry, when Annabelle got pregnant with mia, Brendan came to me and asked the exact same thing."
He added
"Thanks again-"
Joe went to carry on his sentence when his read head walked onto the balcony
"Ello boys "
She said in her usual cheary voice and she then started her own conversation between them all

It was later in the evening and joe and dianne were in their bedroom getting ready to go to sleep. Dianne was at her dressing table taking her makeup off and joe was just stood round the corner out of her sight. He had alot going through his mind. Should he tell her ? He was nervous so ddint mmoe if he should or not. Reminding himself of what mark had told him this morning, he decided to just go for it. He went up to dianne ,taking her makeup off.
"Dot?"
He caught her attention. She turned and looked right at him, in his ocean blue eyes.
"Yeah"
"I'm ready"
He told her
"What? For children?"
She asked
"Yeah...I've thought about it and I'm ready. "
He said and sianne smiled putting her makeup wipe down onto her dressing table and then standing up. She put her hands on his shoulders and smiled again
"You are?"
She asked and joe nodded
"I though you were scared"
She whispered to him
"Theres nothing to be scared about...."
He told her
"Awwww joey.....I love you"
She wrapped her arms around him
"Love you too....."
This was so BAD. I dont really like this chapter, but I explained at the beginning why it's this one and not a good chapter I spent so long on.
Please leave ideas. Some i haven't used before. I just don't know what to write for this, so I need your help. I'll credit you if I use your idea xxx
