It was midnight when dianne was getting into bed. This was very late for her but she had stayed up to watch a show she really wanted too see and now she was going to get a good night sleep or so she thought.
She tucked herself under the duvet before hearing a loud bang on the door. It scared the life out of her and at first she wouldn't want to go and answer it because she was a 19 year old who lived on her own, and god knows what kind of weird men could be knocking on her door at this hour. But she decided to go and get it anyway. She looked into the little peep hole and saw her boyfriend there which definitely did confuse her as it was midnight. She opened the door seeing him there but he was hysterical. He was shaking and crying viciously.
"You ok?"
Dianne was instantly worried being the girlfriend she is. They had been daiting just under a year, around 10 months and they had gotten so protective over eachother.
He just stood their and cried. This was the first time dianne had seen him like this so she was really worried about him. She had seen him cry a little but never ever this much.
"Whats wrong? Whats wrong?"
She repeated herself putting her arms around him, giving him a huge hug. He continued to cry.
"Come in joey, gosh your freezing have my jumper"
Dianne took her hoodie off and wrapped it around Joe's shoulders.
"Can you calm down for me joey? Take deep breaths, follow my breathing "
She told him doing the breathing techniques her high school teacher taught her when she got panic attacks doing exams.
"Its ok, come on"
She hugged him again running one hand up and down his back and her other hand through his floppy brown hair.
"Sit down"
She took his hand and lead him over to her sofa.
"Can you tell me what's wrong?"
She said
"Mum and dad told me and zoe that they're getting a divorce and zoe was so uoset from it all she ran away and mum went after her and we cant find either of them and dads gone out drinking from the stress that zoes ran away and I cant get hold of any of them. I'm scared one if not all of them are either gonna go and do something stupid or get kidnapped or something. I've actually called all of them over 500 times"
He cried into her arms
"Ok, shhhhh, its ok I'm sure it will be fine. Take deep breaths again for me, calm down and then we can talk about it properly"
She told him. She could literally feel his heart beating. After a little bit of time joe managed to stop shaking and dianne could talk to him.
"How long have zoe and your mum been gone?"
Disnne asked him
"Since like 2pm and then dad went out to the pub at 3 but I dont know which one hes gone to. I've tried looking but I cant find him. Like I've ran out of credit I've rang each one of them so many times. I'm worried something bad has happened to them"
Joe told her
"I know and it's ok to be worried but you've got to stay calm. If you worry too much your going to end up having like a breakdown or something and I'm sure you dont want that, I dont want to see you go through that so just keep taking deep breaths I'm sure it will be alright"
Dianne said
"Ok but aswell its ruined my plan to ask you if you want to buy a flat together. I was going to ask you this week but now I dont know where my mums gonna live or where my dads gonna live so I dont know where I'm going "
Joe panicked
"Stop worrying. You can stay with me as long as you need, you can properly move in here we can have our own little space together instead of spending our money on a whole new place"
She told him
"Thank you, i love you"
He whispred
"I love you too"
She smiled
"I'm just going to stay here and cuddle you because thats where I feel most safe and happy"
"Awwww joey"
Dianne cooed
"I'm too worried to go to sleep what if one of then turn up in the middle of the night?"
Joe said
"Its ok, I'm happy to stay up all night cuddling you if thats what you want and will make you calmer. I'll do whatever I can do to stop you having a panic attack"
She ran a hand through his hair
"Thank you so much, I dont know what I'd do without you"
He pressed a delicate kiss on her lips and snuggled into her chest resting their for most of the night.
