Dianne had always been scared of thunderstorms when she was a kid and now she was an adult, in her late 20s still scared of them. She was home alone in her tiny one bedroom apartment and she was terrified. She knew she was an adult now and this what seemed like a stupid little fear should of gone but it had stuck with her. Being alone made her even more scared.
She picked up her phone, and pressed her favourite and most called person in her contact list, her boyfriend or according the the phone he was called 'my joey❤💜'. He picked up instantly like he always did.
"Hey dotty"
His voice went soft when he spoke to her. Since they got together he had turned so soppy and all his friends and family could tell too but he didnt care. He loved her more than anything in this world.
"Joey, are you at home?"
She asked him
"Yeah I'm at home, are you ok?"
He asked
"The storms jospeh"
Her voice shook
"Awww baby, your scared of the storms"
His voice went soft again. He was just so in love with her and wanted to protect her with everything he had.
"Yeah can you come over?"
She asked. It was 10pm, dark, raining, thunder, lightening but anything for his girl.
"Of course I will. I'll stop off at the 24 hour Tesco aswell and get some sweets and chocolates and we can watch a film. We can even have a bath. Would you like that?"
He asked her
"Yes please joseph. You're the best"
She smiled. All she wanted right now was him and he was coming straight over to her.
"No problem dianne, you know I would do absolutely anything to make you feel better. I'll be round in about 20 minutes is that ok?"
He said
"Yeah, it is. Thanks joey"
She smiled again
"I've told you it's ok darling. Stay tucked up in your warm bed until I get there. Stay safe and hide away from the thunder and lightening."
He told her
"I will joe. Love you "
She said
"I love you too. I'll show you how much I love you when I get there. Hide away from everything baby I'll be there soon"
He said
"Ok, see you soon"
"See you soon dot, love you"
Joe ordered an uber straight away as soon as he got off the phone to dianne. He knew how scared she was of thunderstorms so just wanted to be there to protect her and just hold her in his arms.

Joe let himself into diannes apartment with his key. They got eachother keys to oneanothers places when they first started spending nights together.
"Joey, is that you?"
Joe heard a familiar Australian voice call
"Yep dot, its me"
He wondered to her bedroom and opened the door seeing the cutest sight. Dianne had her duvet right over her and you could only see her head peeking out. Her curtains were shut so she couldn't see the lightening. Her light was turned off but she had a bedside lamp turned on. Joe immediately dropped the shopping bag which bad some treats in them and just jump onto the bed so he was laying next to dianne. He put an arm round her and she smiled. She loved being with him.
"Joey, your squashing me"
Dianne let out a little giggle
"Sorry, I'm so sorry baby"
He hugged her tightly pressing a soft kiss to her lips.
"I missed you alot"
Dianne smiled
"I always miss you. You've literally turned me so soft"
He told her and she laughed. He picked up the two Tesco's bags he left on the floor putting them onto the bed.
"I've got us lots of stuff to watch movies. Crisps, sweeties, chocolates. I even got ice cream. And then I also got some body butters and bath salts and nice things. Maybe having a bath will calm you down and I'll do everything for you. Absolutely everything"
He said. Diannes heart was literally melting. No other guy treated her like joe did. She was never going to let go of him.
"Thank you jospeh"
She smiled
"Dont thank me dotty. You deserve it and I want to treat you. Its gonna make you relax and less scared. Now I'll go and run you a bath and you pick out a fresh pair of pyjamas, maybe even a onesie and lay it out on your bed"
Joe said and he took the stuff he needed into the bathroom. He layed it all out so it would be ready for her. He started to run the bath and went straight back to her.
"Anyway, are you ok? Like in general how are you feeling? When was the last time you cried? Was it recently? Did you eat dinner today?"
He asked. It was tiny things like this joke would do that just made her so happy. He would just check on her wellbeing to see if she was ok. If her life was sorted. Dianne was just so heartwarmed she couldn't even speak, she just wrapped her arms around his waist and he wrapped his arms around her. She rested her head on his chest like she always did.
"I'm good joey.....as good as I ever can be"
She smiled and that was because she was with him.
Soon the bath was filled and joe took diannes into the bathroom, having her silk robe on the back of he door.
"Are you going to wash your hair?"
He asked and Dianne shook her head. He took her hairbrush and tied it up into a bun for her.
"You can get in the bath now dot. Remember I'm doing everything for you. Just relax"
Dianne undressed herself and got into the bath, laying back her body hidden from the special bubble bath joe ahd brought. It sounded weird but they loved how they were this comfortable around eachother. They had been together 6 months and knew they could do anything infront of eachother and not feel insecure or embarrassed. They loved eachother for who they were and they thought eachother were perfect.
After a long soak in a bubble bath, dianne hopped out and joe wrapped the towel around her.
"Make sure you get it all around you otherwise you'll be cold"
He put it around her
"Thanks jopseh "
She smiled
"Are you comfortable?"
He asked her and she nodded whilst smiling.
"I'll dry you off then"
He said and a few minutes later she was completely dry.
"We'll go and get your pyjamas on now"
He lead her into the bedroom and he got her changed. It was like having a child but it meant something. It was sweet. Joe was the cutest.
"Sit down I'll brush your hair now" he grabbed the hairbrush and dianne did as he said. He let out the bun and started to brush her hair getting all the knots out.
"Now dotty. Cuddles with joey?"
He suggested and they put their arms around eachother and got the snacks out sharing a bag of popcorn to start. They put a movie on the TV, it was something they found on Netflix.
After many snacks, the soon fell asleep. Cuddled up in diannes bed, under the cosy duvets ,cuddled into eachothers arms.
I took inspiration for this fron a conversation me and soft_sugg were having on instagram. So here either is. I liked this one alot.
