"I'm getting kinda bored, I hope they call us soon"
Dianne rested her head on Joe's shoulder as they sat in the hospital waiting room. They had arrived for the first scan of their first baby and it was very exiting. They couldn't wait to see the baby who they had nicknamed peanut for the first time.
And they hoped nothing was wrong. Dianne took a pregnancy test every week just to make sure she was still pregnant as she was getting really overprotective over her really small bump and so had joe.
"Dianne buswell"
A lady stood at the door with a smile on her face and called their name. Joe and dianne stood up and followed the lady into a room at the end of the corridor.
"Dianne, how are you?"
She smiled opening the door for joe and Dianne
"Good thank you"
She smiled back and sat down on a chair next to joe.
"Its lovely to meet you both, I'm sandra I'm going to be your midwife. Now I've been told you are mr joe sugg and Dianne you are miss dianne Buswell ."
She said
"Yep, joe and dianne"
Dianne said
"Amazing, now I've been told that you've spoken to fran over the phone a couple of times, is that right?"
Sandra asked
"Yeah, I've spoken to her twice"
Dianne informed her. At 6 weeks dianne experienced bleeding which at first she thought was a miscarriage but she phone the hospital and spoke to a lovely lady called fran who told her it was totally normal to happen in the early stages of pregnancy.
"Great, now I'm sure fran has asked you many questions but I'm going to have to ask you them again. So first of all could you just tell me how far along you think you are? We'll find out how far you actually sre when we do the scan but how far long do you think?"
She asked her
"Around 11 weeks, maybe around 10. The test said 3 weeks plus so that could be any point past 3 weeks but from around the time they were probably conceived around 11 weeks"
Dianne told her
"Amazing and what kind of symptoms have you been getting and when abouts did they start?"
She was asked
"Well its been mainly morning sickness from around 6 weeks, I've only been feeling back pain and cramps since about 2 weeks ago but I was getting cravings really early on, probably about a few days after we found out. I've been glowing alot more, less spots surprisingly from before I even found out"
Dianne said
"That's perfectly normal then. Alot of women get it at all different times but you seem perfect. Next question, was this pregnancy intentional, so basically any kind of protection used?"
Sandra said
"Yeah we definitely planned it. So no protection was used or anything like that, we hadn't been using anything for a couple of months"
Dianne told her
"And I have been told you were bleeding at around 6 weeks? Which caused alot of panic"
"Yeah I really freaked out, joe did more than me though"
Dianne giggled
"Yeah I did....I get really over protective"
Joe said quietly going read in the face.
"Awww sweet,and first baby?"
Sandra asked them
"Yeah first baby"
Dianne smiled
"First babys are always really exiting, I bet you both cant wait"
Sandra smiled back at them
"Yeah were really exited, especially you joey. "
Dianne laughed at him
"Yeah of course I am, I'm soft"
His face went red again
"You two are honestly the cutest, how long have you been together?"
Sandra asked
"Just over 3 years"
Joe said
"Awww cute, anyway, you ready dianne?"
She said and dianne nodded
"Right so you just need to climb up onto this bed, roll down your leggings abit and roll up your tshirt."
Sandra told her and Dianne did as instructed. She held her hand out and joe took it squeezing her hand.
"So I'm going to put this gel on, it will be a little cold then I'll do the ultrasound and you'll beable to see your baby and also hear a heartbeat"
Sandra told them
"Do I have a normal sized bump for around this time in pregnancy?"
Dianne asked
"It seemes totally normal, it's a little bigger than most girls but thats because you have quite a small frame so a baby bump will look bigger on you because your quite small. The baby might be small aswell though, not too small that there will be complications but small because they inherit it from their parents because Joe has a small frame aswell if that makes sence"
Sandra explained
"Makes perfect sense"
Dianne smiled
"Right so I'm going to put the gel on now"
Sandra told her outting the gel on diannes stomach. She gasped a little as it was a tiny bit cold but after a little while dianne felt fine. Sandra put the ultrasound machine on and brought it to diannes lower abdomen and traced it along the curved padt of her tummy.
"There we go, theres your baby"
Sandra turned the screen around for them too see. Joe squeezed diannes hand tighter as their baby appeared on the screen. They looked at it in awe, amazed by it. It was a really special moment.
"And if you listen carefully you can hear the heartbeat"
A strong beating sound could be heard and it echoed through the room.
"Jospeh...."
Dianne turned to him and smiling
"That's our baby dot. Little peanut"
Joe smiled
"So you are what you thought you were 11 weeks. The heartbeat is all good, size looks good. Everything is perfectly fine at the moment. Your due date would be.... may 6th"
Sandra told them and they both gasped.
"Jospeh, my birthday"
Dianne turned to him again
"That would be the best birthday present in the world"
Joe told her
"I might have to share my birthday, that's crazy"
Dianne said
"You might have, and that's basically it. I'll go and print off the photos of the scan for you now, when I come back, I'll help you get the gell off. I'll leave the machine on so you can just have a little moment by yourself and listen to the heartbeat"
Sandra said
"Thank you"
Joe smiled as she walked out of the room
They moment their eyes connected, they just smiled at eachother and joe wrapped his arms around his girlfriend giving her the biggest hug ever.
Sorry I keep doing pregnancy ones but I had a list of chapters I wanted to do before I started this and this was one of them so I hope you enjoyed them. I'm currently working on the ones some of you suggested so hopefully they will be out soon.
