Dianne was doing what she did every day, cooking dinner for her and her husband joe. Dianne had always been this kind of partner,the one to cook dinners or cleans up for them and buy them sweets if she passed the shop on the way home. She loved doing little things like that, but since she met joe it became the normal thing. As soon as they moved in with eachother into their little flat, they still live in today around 5 years ago , they made a deal that dianne would cook during the week and joe would cook on the weekends and dianne only worked weekends as a kids dance teacher .
Tonight she was making one of Joe's favourites a spaghetti bolognese, however she had made herself a separate one with quorn mince. Recently she had been trying to go vegetarian and it was working, she hadn't eaten any meat in a month and she felt so good.
"Dot, I'm home "
She heard a familiar voice and the door click open. She turned around seeing her jospeh take his shoes and coat off in the hallway. A smile on her face formed as he walked over to her.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and dianne threw her arms around his neck, having the hug they always had when joe walked through the door after work.
Joe worked in an office as he owned his own company with his best mate caspar called margravine management. He worked all week and dianne worked all weekend so the only time they really got to spend together was in the morning and in the evening, but they didn't mind. They still got to see eachother and that was what made them happy.
"Did you have a good day at work?"
Dianne softly asked her husband, her voice muffled against his shirt.
"Yeah it was ok ,same stuff as usual "
Joe told her and the lesnt down pressing a gentle kiss to diannes lips. They had been married a year, together for 6 ,but their love still hadn't died out. They were still very much in love.
"Jenny rang me today"
Joe said as he walked over to the cupboard on the other side of the kitchen to get a glass to pour himself a drink.
"Jenny....jenny from the houses?"
Dianne asked in a little confusion
"Yeah she said the 4 bedroom house you liked ,we can go and look around on Thursday. Not this Thursday , the week after at around 4"
Joe said filling up his cup. Recently the couple had been looking for a new place to live instead of a flat this time, they were going to buy a house, ready for when they had a family whenever they may be.
"Yeah that's fine."
Dianne told him
"Yeah your right, shall I tell her its definitely that one and not the other one. You know the one with the flowers in the garden?"
Joe said and dianne nodded
"Definitely that one "
"When she next calls me I tell her ..... also dot, you look lovely today ,where did you get these Jean's from?
Joe asked smiling
"Thanks joey, their from top shop. There nice aren't they "
Dianne said
"Yeah I love them , they make your bum look great "
He told her and dianne let out a giggle
"Oh shut up, stop being so naughty jospeh. Anyway here's your dinner. "
She handed him a plate
"Thanks darling, it looks delicious. What have you got?"
Joe asked
"The same, just the vegetarian version. Do you want a gin and tonic?"
Joe smiled and nodded as dianne made them both a little drink .
"Can I try some of yours? Now that your not eating meat anymore, it's made me go a bit off it. It's not your fault or anything, it's just that I saw a video of the animals today on Twitter and it made me sad, so I want to start eating less "
