"Are you nearly ready dot?"
Rina shouted to her daughter who was putting the finishing touches to her outfit which consisted of a pair of denim shorts and a plain white tshirt which she had tucked into them. Also with a pair of sandals.
"Yep, nearly done"
A few seconds later dianne appeared out side of her bedroom at the top of the stairs.
"Finally your ready, dads getting bored of waiting for you"
Rina told her
"Well I'm ready now, he can stop complaining"
Dianne was the only Buswell child left who still lived at home. However she wasn't really a child anymore she was 19. She lived there with he mum and dad,and for the past 3 years joe, diannes boyfriend had been living with them. They met back in secondary school and had been together since year 7, which was crazy. They were both 19, but had been in a longterm relationship already of 8 years.
The family were going for a walk along the beach but joe wasn't with them. He was working, or so dianne thought.
"Eventually dot. You take a while don't you"
Mark said
"I wanna look half decent dad. Theres gonna be at least a few people on the beach "
Dianne told him
"We can finally leave. Go and get in the car"
Mark said and dianne grabbed his keys from the kitchen side and went and unlocked the car for them all so they could drive down to the beach.

Mark's car pulled into the car park above the beach. There were stairs that lead down to the beach where they could already see had a beautiful sunset.
"I'll take your bag dot"
Rina told her and she took diannes mini backpack to prepare for the surprise they had been planning for a while. The three of them, mother, father and daughter, went to walk over to the stairs but dianne noticed there was something and somebody down on the beach.
"Is that joe?"
She turned to her parents.
"Yep, go and see him dot. He has something to say"
Mark said. Dianne walked down the stairs to the beach in her home town. There were rose petals shaped like a heart on the sand and stood inside was joe, her boyfriend waiting for her.
She got to the bottom of the stairs as her parents watched from above. She wondered over to joe and just threw her arms around him. She didn't really know what was going on or what was about to happen, but it was really sweet and she was happy to see him as eveyone had told her, he was at work.
"Dot....."
Joe started to speak
"We met nearly 9 years ago now back when we were 12, in year 7 and I knew my crush on you would turn into something more "
He said and diannes giggled remembering all the memories from when they were younger. It was like it all happened yesterday.
"At first it just seemed like a silly little thing but once we had been together for a year we actually started to take it seriously and thats when I told you I loved you for the first time and then you said it back. We took it to the next level the next year, when we were 14 when we had our first ever sleepover together and you know what happened that night. Everyone used to bully us for being together, saying it was fake and that we were attention seeking but we proved them all wrong. I dropped out of school for you when you went and did your hairdressing which I'm really glad we did because I got a job at the cafe down the road which pays me enough money so that we can hopefully buy a flat together soon. We can have our own little place and have our own space together to do what we like. We've gone on lots of holidays, I've been to everyone of your dance shows, we have so many memories and I hope this one will become your favourite "
He told her. She couldn't stop smiling, he was adorable.
"Give me your hand"
He whispred
"Why?"
Dianne whispred back
"Because I'm trying to ask you to marry me, so give me your hand"
He said and diannes smile grew bigger. He reached into his pocket, taking out a little black velvet box and getting on one knee.
Mark and rina were still watching and were both tearing up.
"I know were still young, and I'm not saying we have to get married straight away, but I'm so in love with you so.....dotty will you marry me?"
He asked. Dianne paused for a minute in shock. She couldn't believe it. 8 years together and it was happening. This was the moment she had always dreamed off.
"Awww Joseph, of course I will bubba"
She smiled and threw her arms around him again. Joe wrapped his arms around her and just smiled. He coudknt believe it either. First of all that shy him just did that and that she said yes. He had a huge fear that she would say no because they were still young, 19, or maybe she wanted to travel first or have kids first but thankfully she said yes.
"I love you"
Dianne pressed her lips onto Joe's
"Love you more"
Joe said kissing her back
"Can I give you the ring?"
He asked after a few more minutes of just holding onto eachother and not wanting to let go.
"Oh yes of course the ring, I nearly forgot about that"
Joe took the ring out the box and placed it onto her finger. It was a rose gold band with a medium sized diamond in the middle. Simple but sparkly and she loved it.
"Oh joe"
Diannes heart melted and she hugged him again. He was really the cutest.
"Joe I'm crying look"
A single test fell from diannes eye
"Awwww dot"
He wiped the tear away with his thumb.
"I cant wait to spend the rest of my life with you........"
Again I wrote this at a really weird time. 4am. I like this one but then again I dont know.
I'm gonna start a new book once this is finished based on one of these one shots I've done but I'm not telling which one unless you're soft_sugg and you already know because I've told you. Dont tell anyone izzy 😂
