"Joey"
Dianne turned to her boyfriend. It was 1am a very random time for a normal person but for dianne who was 7 and a half months pregnant 1am was new normal with her messed up sleek schedule.
"Yeah"
Joe rolled over, his voice mumbled against the pillow.
"Can you get out a yoga mat for me?"
Dianne asked softly
"A yoga mat, its the middle of the night dianne"
Joe's head hit the pillow
"I dont care, I want to do yoga "
Dianne firmly told him
"Why? You in pain?"
Joe asked her. He knew she got a little bit stubborn when the baby was hurting her. It was crazy this whole process. When dianne fell pregnant they had only been together a year and was a massive shock to everybody even them but they knew it was going to be ok as they had been friends for years. Now they were here today about to become a family in a month and a half.
"Yeah and it really hurts so can you get the yoga mat out please?"
She asked him
"Yeah of course I will "
He got out of bed walking over to their walk in wardrobe and got out diannes yoga mat. She loved yoga throughout the whole pregnancy. It was something that would take her mind of the morning sickness in her first trimester and since then it had kind of become an addiction. She didn't crave food like normal pregnant women she craved doing yoga.
"There we go, are you going to do it in your pyjamas? "
He asked laying down the yoga mat at the end of their bed.
"Yeah I cant be bothered to get changed at this hour."
Dianne climbed out of bed and wondered over to the yoga mat.
"Let me feel her before you start"
Joe put his hand on her bump. It was big, your average size for being 7 months pregnant. They were having a girl and her name was going to be cora zoe
"Gosh she is kicking alot isnt she "
Joe smiled. Every time he felt his daughter kick he felt so lucky. He knew he would be a good dad, well he wanted too anyway, he was going to try his best. He couldn't wait. Once he felt the kicks he let dianne do her yoga and he climbed back into her but he couldn't get back to sleep. He reached for the toy elephant on his bedside table and cuddled it tightly.
When you hear that he cuddled a stuffed elephant it sounds pathetic but it was really special to him and dianne. Inside was a voice machine but instead of the voice they had coras heartbeat so whenever you pressed the button you could hear her. He watched dianne do the yoga for a good half an hour before she climbed back into bed.
"That didnt really help"
Dianne rested her head on the pillow
"What the yoga? Are you hurting more now?"
Joe asked
"Yeah, shes kicking even more"
She told him and joe out his hand on her bump, rubbing his thumb over it. His eyes locked with diannes and she smiled at him before he looked back at the bump.
"Its nice when she kicks"
Joe smiled
"I know but it isn't nice when she does it so much that it hurts like this"
She said joe wrapped an arm around her bur as he did he accidentally pressed the button on the elephant and Coras heartbeat played. It suddenly went quiet between them as they heard the heartbeat.
"Awwww Joey"
Dianne smiled at him and he giggled
"it's nice isn't it"
Joe said
"Yeah but I just wanna get her out of me now. I hope shes early, not premature early but early you know like a few weeks early"
Dianne said
"Me too, I cant wait to meet her"
Joe added
"I cant wait either, I just want to see you with her because you're just gonna be the best dad ever"
"I'll try my best"
He told her
"Can you get the photo album out?"
Dianne asked and joe reached into his bedside drawers getting out the pastel purple book they got a few days after they found out they were having a baby. He passed it to dianne and he shuffled closer to her resting his head of her shoulder. On the front cover they had written cora zoe sugg and inside was a collection of photos from the pregnancy.
"Oh my god, the pregnancy test that feels like so long ago"
Joe said as they turned to the first page and the first photo there was kf the pregnancy test.
"I know it does seem like ages ago, and this one look. The photo of the baby grow we gave to your mum to tell her"
Dianne smiled. To tell tracey they got her a baby grow which said the best mums get promoted to grandma.
"I forgot how many there was in here. The first scan, photos of your bump just the random little photos of you walking through a shop holding baby clothes"
Joe smiled. They carried on going through them and seeing all the photos. They were all taken throughout the pregnancy and all meant something. There was ones with joe shandy resting on the bump with the TV on in the background. Pictures from the gender reveal.
"I tear up every time I see these ones"
Dianne said as they turned the page again and it was more pictures of the scan but they were 3d so you could actually see what she looked like.
"Me too, she looks like me doesn't she"
Joe smiled
"She does, and I want her to look like you too because you were a cute baby"
Dianne told him
"I was a chubby baby, you wer Ethel cute one"
Joe smiled
"I want to give this to her when shes like 16, we should give the elephant too her aswell"
Dianne said
"That's a brilliant idea dot"
Joe smiled
"Thanks joey. The pain has eased off now, shes still kicking but it doesnt hurt anymore"
Dianne told him
"Thats good, next time we'll just get this book out and look through it and it should ease off the pain"
Joe laughed
"Yeah I know, shall we try and get some sleep now?"
Dianne asked
"Yep, come on snuggle up"
Joe smiled as dianne got closer to bid chest, as close as she could with her bug bunk in the way and they slowly fell asleep in eachothers arms.
This is very bad. I was writing this at 3am and then stopped halfway through and finished it once I woke up so thats probably why it's so bad.
