If you remember this being a birthday gift, no you don't.
ENJOY!!
You sighed as you caught a glimpse of yourself reflected in the glass of the booth. Just my luck. You rang the water out of your hair, furrowing your brows as you listened to the rain pouring all around you. You pushed your bangs away from your eyes, then plopped down on the bench in frustration.
Placing your chin in the palm of your hands, a scowl fell across your face. "Stupid rain, the weather app said nothing about rain today." You shook your head as you spoke to yourself, closing your eyes in hopes of that somehow making you feel better. The rain came in a sudden downpour whilst you were returning home from work, with the only warning being the small number of clouds that were in the sky during the time. Nobody around you said anything about rain today either, so it seems the rain was a surprise for everyone.
The wind blew a small breeze, sending a chill down through your body. You were no doubt going to catch a cold by the morning if this didn't let up.
An ache in your back signaled you to fix your posture, prompting you to sit back on the glass behind you. A sigh left your mouth as you looked around at the empty street surrounding you, everyone ran for shelter in a store, or got in their cars to head on home. You were still saving up for a car and the train line you take was involved in a mental shutdown case, so you were forced to walk home.
"Are you alright? You're soaked."
Your head turned to look beside you, seeing a tall boy with long brown hair standing beside you with a large umbrella over him. Your eyes met his red eyes, and you observed him silently as he squinted at you. "I normally don't talk to random people on the street, but you're probably the last person besides me out here."
Your eyes widened at his words, feeling slightly embarrassed at the fact that he noticed you were by yourself on such a normally busy street. You tore your gaze from him and looked at the ground, "I wasn't prepared for rain, so I'm stuck waiting for it to stop."
"I see," He looked out towards the heavy rain with a concerned expression, "You realize this is probably going to last all night, don't you?"
Silence surrounded the two of you, awkwardness overcoming you.
Without warning, you felt a jacket suddenly land on your shoulders, and you looked up to see he had removed his jacket to give to you. You cocked a brow at him, and he grinned softly at you, "Oh don't look at me like that, you'll get sick if somebody doesn't give you some dry and warm clothing." He held his hand out to you, "Would you like me to accompany you to the nearest train station?"
"My train line is down because of the mental shutdowns." You spoke silently compared to him as your eyes found their way to his name tag on his jacket that was wrapped around you.
Detective Goro Akechi
Tokyo Police ForceYour eyes widened as you finally realized whose presence you were in, jumping to your feet. "Forgive me, Akechi-San! I didn't recognize you in the darkness!" You bowed your head to him in shame, hoping he would not feel disrespected.
"There's no need for apologies, I don't expect everybody to recognize me. After all, I'm pretty basic looking." He chuckles at his bad joke, causing you to look up at the ace detective in confusion. He was still chuckling at himself by the time you stood up straight, which earning a shy smile from you.
