"(Y/L/N)!" There was a loud slam in front of your face, scaring you awake. The class laughed at you as your teacher scowled, "Get your act together, or get out."

"Sorry m'am.." You wiped the drool off your face, looking back down at your notebook. Your eyes wandered away from the pages, making eye contact with your best friend Ryuji across the room. He gave you a sympathetic grin, then turned back to the board.

The class seemed to move by slowly, even though you only had ten minutes left. Once the bell rang, you sighed to yourself and sluggishly stood up and grabbed your books off your desk. Suddenly, the books in your hands were knocked onto the floor, the pages folding inward as the book landed open. You looked up to the same group of boys who would do it every day, watching them laugh at you as they walked out the class. Ryuji slid in front of them, all of them stopping in their tracks by how fast the blonde had reached them, "You must think you guys are real clever don't ya? Back off and leave (Y/F/N) alone, or I promise next time it wont be his book's face that meets the ground, it'll be yours."

"Man whatever.. Let's go guys."

There he goes again.. Having to defend me. What the hell, I need to stand up for myself, I shouldn't always rely on him.

Sighing, you reached down to grab your books, stopping when a hand had beat you to it. Looking up, your best friend smiled softly, "C'mon man, stop being so clumsy, yeah?"

You sighed as you forced a grin, "Yeah, sorry Ryuji." You put your bag on your shoulder and shoved your books in, looking back up at him, "Want to go to the arcade? I could use a bit of-"

"Sorry man.. I can't today." Your shoulders dropped, "I have plans with Akira again, but I promise to make it up to you, okay?" He smiled at you widely as he punched your arm lightly. His smile was so contagious, it forced you to smile back at him.

He walked off without a goodbye, leaving you on your own. You grabbed your water off your desk and began to leave the classroom, stopping when your teacher cleared her throat. You turned to her, seeing her raise a brow to you. Your head dropped as you dragged yourself over to her desk, "(Y/L/N), you need to get your act together, right now."

"Yes m'am, I'm sorry." You looked down at your feet, feeling embarrassed.

"No, sorry isn't going to cut it this time mister. You're going to amount to nothing if you keep this up. To put it clearly for you, you're being worthless. Your failing my class, you never hand in homework, you sleep through class, and you barely communicate with anyone except for Sakamoto." She continued to scold you, reminding you that you were going to end up on the streets if you didn't start bringing your grades up. She continued for around five minutes, then excused you like she didn't just mop the floor with you.

As you made way to the exit to make your way home, you were suddenly surrounded by the same boys from earlier. You pushed past them, not wanting to be bothered. "What's the matter, you don't wanna talk to us today?"
