2. Revealing the Traitor

Severus and Hermione take Pettigrew to Dumbledore's Office while Harry stays back with Moonsilver, Padfoot, and Moony.

Severus and Hermione bumped into Minerva on the way. "Minerva, would you mind accompanying Miss Granger and I to the Headmaster's office? I'd say that it's an urgent matter." Minerva looked confused but went along with them.

Once they reached, Albus asked, "What is it, Severus?"

Hermione then started narrating what happened before Snape arrived at the shack and let the older man take over from when he had arrived. Albus and Minerva were shocked. "Here he is, Headmaster. He's in his animagus form." Said Severus as he held out the hand carrying the rat. "Would you set the rat down, Severus. I'll reverse him to his original form and call the minister."

Pettigrew returned back to his original form but thankfully was still unconscious. Minerva proceeded to use Albus' floo to call the Minister while Severus levitated Pettigrew on to a chair and bound him.

The Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, the current Head of the DMLE, and the current Head Auror Rufus Scrimgeour were gaping when they saw Pettigrew lying unconscious on the floor. "What is this, Albus? He can be an imposter." Exclaimed Cornelius. "I suggest you use Veritaserum and confirm whether it's Pettigrew or an imposter, Minister." Said the Headmaster

They nodded and Rufus took out a vial of Veritaserum that he always had in his personal stores. He revived Peter and almost immediately poured the contents of the vial into his mouth. He started questioning him once the potion started taking effect.

"Are you Peter Pettigrew?"

"Yes," he answered monotonously. The minister paled at this but kept going.

"Were you the Potter family's secret keeper as of October 31st, 1981 and November 1st 1981?"

"Yes"

"Were you the one to betray the Potters and blasted the street that killed the 12 muggles?"

"Yes"

The Head Auror administered the antidote and stunned him so he doesn't escape. He then turned to Albus and told him "We know now that Lord Black is innocent. But we need to listen to his side of the story as well to declare it innocent to the papers. I hope he's still in the school grounds."
