A NEW BEGINNING

1. Prologue

On Halloween Night, 1981, Fenrir Greyback manages to bite James and Lily's daughter Alaya Lillian Potter and afflicts her with a lifetime of Lycanthropy before Voldemort orders him to go away from the house.

Remus doesn't forget to take his Wolfsbane Potion and Harry makes sure that Alaya has hers before he accompanies her to the shack.

The incidents are the exact same as that in PoA.

Remus and Alaya transform once the cloud clear and show the moon. But they don't attack. With a quick move, Alaya, who's wolf form was named Moonsilver, catches hold of Peter, who was in his animagus form, with her front paws and gives him to Harry. He gets a good hold of the squirming rat, turns over to Snape (Who thankfully hadn't been stunned), and asks him to stun him.

Severus then spoke to Sirius in a civil way. "Black, I think you should stay here. I can see that Lupin's wolf form has seen Mr. Potter, Ms. Potter, and her wolf form as his cub and is pretty protective of them. You may need to help. Miss Granger and I will take Pettigrew to the Headmaster's office and coerce the minister to give you a trial." Sirius nodded at this. "Yes, Snape. You do that. Thank you." Said Sirius, maintaining the civil nature.

Snape nodded curtly and went away with the bushy haired girl after both of them helped Ron up and walk back to the castle.

Sirius then turned and smiled to see Harry getting acquainted with Moony. The boy was sitting down on the floor while Silver had her head on his lap while Moony was purring contentedly with Harry's belly rub as Harry scratched his sister's wolf form's head. Just then, both the wolves got up to spot a disturbance from the forest. Sirius paled and almost fainted at what he saw.

Dementors.

Harry saw his godfather's expression, whipped his wand out, and drove the creatures away with the most powerful Patronus he could muster. And that itself turned out to be a corporeal one.

Sirius was gaping by the time Harry drove those dementors away. He told Harry once the boy turned "You know Harry, your father's Patronus was also a stag." Harry smiled at this. He could see sadness mixed with nostalgia in his godfather's eyes. He went over to the dog animagus and hugged him to give the older man the comfort he needed. Sirius was stunned at first. But he returned the hug. Just then, Silver tugged at Harry's and Sirius' shirt and pulled them over to where she and Moony were sitting and cuddled into Moony once she sat down.

Harry too cuddled into Moony. The older wolf put a hand around both of his cubs and beckoned Sirius to come over towards them. The said man turned into his animagus form and went over to near the group's heads. Harry understood what Padfoot was trying to do and placed his head on the dog's side. Moony and Silver too did the same and the four of them fell asleep in no time.
