"You wish me to willingly bite you, whenever I require to." My voice was deep yet soft, as I remained laying shirtless on my bed. My left arm was soon wrapped strongly around Erin's body, in a protective way of sorts.

"Yes Drake." My crimson eyes watch his face lift off of my chest. His lips form a breathtaking smile that seems to radiate from his form. "That is the only way we can have, uhh well a p-physical relationship."

"Here I was so sure you would run far and fast from me in fear, once you learned the truth about who I was."

"Well, I can't deny I was a bit freaked out at first. I mean to learn vampires are very much real? And that one of them, wants me to be theirs? It was a lot to take in. I guess in a way, I didn't want to believe it was true. Then your cousin hunted me down, I didn't think much of it at first. Until I saw his fangs, then you showed up. Seeing the powers you all possess. Clearly you were far from humans, so the only option was to believe vampires were real."

"We are very real." Erin places his hand over my heart, as he once more returns his cheek to rest upon my chest.

"Hey Drake, do all vampires have powers? Like you and your cousins do?"

"No." My answer may have been a bit too blunt and sharp. But I knew in a way where this conversation may lead to. I already spoke of my family only moments ago with this human. But I knew it was only natural that he had questions, that he wanted to learn as much as he could about me and my family.

"Then why do you and your cousins have powers? If it is so rare?"

My lips part, as a deep sigh escapes my form. Just the mere thought of my family was tough to think about, let alone talk about.

Erin must have noticed my attitude change, as I felt his hands upon my face. Gazing at him, he was now sitting, while he caressed my cheek softly. "What's wrong Drake?" I saw a look cross his face, "If telling me is too painful, I understand."

"No Erin, I want you to learn everything about me. Even if that must include our painful past. It is just a subject we don't speak of. Well that I don't speak of. My cousin's don't bring up our family around me anymore. It angers me too much."

"I won't push you Drake."

Erin's words were soft and considerate. He was my mate, he deserved to know about everything. "My cousin's and myself, we are what is called Pure Bloods."

"So, only pure bloods have powers than? But I'm confused, Drake. You said a bite from a vampire doesn't change humans. So wouldn't all vampires be considered pure blooded?"

"Yes and yet no." The confusion on Erin's face was priceless to my answer. "Let me explain. Yes only the vampires with pure blood status have powers. And correct, our bite does not transform humans into creatures like myself."

"But..."

Cutting Erin off I chuckle deeply. "Let me explain, my coven consisted of only pure blooded vampire lines. This meant when each child was born, both our parents were pure bloods. Meaning each vampire in my coven, mated with another vampire from our coven. In a way all our blood is connected. There was no outside vampire blood mixed within our coven. This kept our status as true pure bloods." Clearly Erin still didn't understand. "Some vampires, like myself, have found their mate to be human. Now if a male vampire mates with a female human, and they produce a child. That child would be born a vampire, but that child would not be considered pure blood. So whoever that vampire mates with, their child would also not be pure blood."

Erin's green eyes opened wider. "Oh! I get it now. So once a human's blood is mixed into a vampire line, it cancels out the chance of powers for future generations, and just regular vampires are born. No matter if that new non pure blood, mates with pure blood." Nodding my head he mumbled to himself. "Who would have thought Vampires were so complex. Not what they are made out to be, in books or movies."
